Is managing adhd possible without drugs?

I was diagnosed earlier this year. No surprise. Previously put struggles down to dyslexia.

I really want to find a way of progressing more at work. I’m a freelance creative. Age 25-32 great success - though trouble focusing, the work felt exciting and the end product a reward in itself. Since lockdown and kids- things harder. Possibly because the end result is less guaranteed due to serious industry contraction.

Is it about creating rewards? Deadlines don’t help. Punishing self doesn’t help!

I also struggle of course with organisation, prioritising etc. I find the ways adhd impacts on my domestic life (inability to pack bags, do food shop etc) doesn’t hugely affect my self esteem. Perhaps because my partner does most of the heavy lifting. The work stuff does however. Even wanting to be a good role model for my kids isn’t enough.

Any tips?

No tips but following for advice. I’m nearly 50 with teenagers and elderly parents. About to take on a very responsible work role and am feeling all over the place, with perimenopause thrown in to the mix.
I’m undiagnosed but come out as possible ADHD in online tests. I’d love to know the answers to your questions op.
