Autism at School

Good day,

I don't know if I'm taking this to heart but our 6 year old son is struggling in his new class (year 1&2 mix), and we have spent the last year talking with his SEN teacher getting things in place. He's currently waiting for a referral concerning his Autism but for us it is pretty plane to see. The last week he hasn't wanted to come in from lunch after play. He says the class is too noisy. This was the case all the week up to Thursday when the head teacher phoned my wife (at work) and asked her if we could "have a word" with him as he's causing a disturbance. I was waiting outside to pick him up but she ( head) didn't want I go out in the rain. I think this is pretty off to be honest, as they have his history and are aware of his sensory problems. Do I complain or see how it pans out??

What did the head teacher say?

What did the head teacher say?

"can you have a word with him" . He's situational mute.

I think that's pretty off too. Have you applied for an ECHP? What adjustments does he currently have? Is he allowed any type of noise quietening devices like Loops?

"can you have a word with him" . He's situational mute.

But how did she say he had been causing a disturbance? What actually happened to prompt the call? It wouldn't be usual for a HT to call rather than the class teacher.
