Best ADHD App

Does any one have any adhd day planner style app recommendations?

I am a serial "to do list" and diary person, constantly using phone, work and paper diaries along with to do lists all over the house but I'm spiralling and keep seeing adverts for adhd and nd apps.

I actually think if there was something that I could map out my day with task and chunks of time it may actually help but when searching got very overwhelmed.

I've chased and tweaked and tried so many things, but the most important thing for me has been: keep it in one place. The app or tool can be imperfect, but have one place to look and check.

I just use the default reminders/to-do list app on my iPhone. I use the scheduling feature a lot, to put to-dos on certain days, so I can be focusing on only today's todo list. And you can drag and drop things forward and backward (much more dragging things forward into the future lol!).

The only extra thing I do is if I move big tasks forward (like DIY or house stuff), then I put a number to tell me how many times I moved it and then when I see that number I either need to do it that weekend or delete it, because I can no longer kid myself.

One and only one place is the most important for me though. I mix work and home and social all in together.

I'm afraid I just have lots of notes and scraps of paper all over the house.
I can absolutely make lists on apps etc. I just cannot make myself refer to them. My (non) working memory is one of the biggest aspect of my ADHD I struggle with, I'm not always near my phone, but I have pens & notebooks in every room.

So I just use very lovely notebooks and pens and just accept this works for me even if it's not a 'neat' solution.

I was a really late adopter of smart phones and for this reason have struggled with apps. Also opening my phone presents so much temptation to go on social media.

What I have found incredibly useful and appeals to my creative side is Filofax. They do different kinds of notebooks and some of them are not too ridiculously priced.

The great thing with them is the pages are moveable, either in ring binder format, or in spiral bound format, in both of these you can reorder the pages. This offers lots of flexibility.

You can also get erasable pens. This I love as it means pages can be reused, lists can be tidied up etc.

And the paper is nice enough quality that it feels nice and I have a quiet pride in maintaining the system.

I bought some solid sticky tabs and a labelling machine so I can create my own sections - I have a tab for each month and a weekly plan. Tabs for a few projects.

You can buy plain or different types of pages on their website so it's very customisable. I have the fold out monthly planner so I can see at a glance what is going on and I've stuck it on the notice board.

Like any system it's only as good as you using it. But so far it's been helpful and easy to put back together when I inevitably get in a pickle. Having a daily/weekly review routine etc.

There is also a Filofax Facebook Users group which in a sad way acts as accountability for me in using a planner! It's a vaguely cult like group for Filofax lovers. People share there organisation layouts and review systems.

Day to day I use Alexa a lot and have one dot in each room.
