I get very angry about little things (possibly ADHD)

Little things, like innocent comments my mother or dp's mother make, make me really angry. If I don't get my own way when complaining to a company .. all sorts of things. I know I need to chill, but I can't seem to.

I suspect I have ADHD, not diagnosed but runs in the family and I have many of the symptoms, just can't be a*rsed to get a diagnosis as I don't want to take medication.

Anyone else feel like this and how do you deal with it?

Emotional dysregulation - it's a symptom of ADHD.

How are you in general - would you say you're happy or are you really stressed out? It could be a symptom of burnout/general poor mood. One of the OTs I follow on instagram says if you're constantly going from 0-60 with no warning, it could be a sign that you're not actually starting from 0, you're just simmering at 58/59 constantly so the tiniest thing can push you over the edge.

Honestly medication helps me with it. With medication I am less bothered by sensory input and I'm less exhausted by just making everyday life work, so I'm less high on that scale in the first place.

I guess I am stressed by everything most of the time, any demands at all stress me out.

How did you go about getting a diagnosis? I just think the gp will laugh at me at the age of 59, asking about adhd! I moved recently, so haven't actually met my gp yet. I hate calling them for an appointment too.

Could you link to the OT you follow, I'd be interested in seeing what they say in general.

Yes it's TheOTButterfly on Instagram. She talks about children but I find her info helpful for myself as well.

I live in Germany and I was diagnosed in 2016 so will be different in the UK and much longer waiting lists now, but I went to my GP and said I think I might have ADHD as I'm struggling with (list of symptoms) and I would like to be referred for assessment. She was a bit sceptical but she did refer me.

Thank you, I'll look her up.

It's so difficult to even get an appointment here, not sure I can face it.

That insta account is very interesting. Can you suggest a website for a list of symptoms I can tick off before seeing the doctor?

You want to google "Adult ADHD ASRS" as this is the best screener I believe.

aadd.co.uk also had some good info on their website.
