I have a current threat going about bulimia where I have had some brilliant advice.and a thread I'm on about bingeing ,
But my food choices are so limited,I seem to only eat crisps and bread .very little else ,but I am sort some days of managing to not go over my calories...firstly I'm vegan and I found out last year I'm autistic.
I'm overeating because of bad food choices... crisps do not a meal make .
Has anyone else autistic managed to eat normally from a background of eating disorders and being autistic.
Every day I slip back in to old patterns of eating,I have a difficult life and I'm definitely using food to deal with it
I'm not vomiting,I've stopped that ,but I'm definitely overeating, not sure if what I'm doing is technically classed as bingeing ,..but it's sure as he'll making me miserable

I have a difficult life

I wonder if there are ways to fill your cup? Or small things that we could brainstorm to make daily life just a little bit better?

It’s very hard to change things when we’re barely managing to prop ourselves up

It feels like my whole life is on hold untill I've lost this weight

Are you actually just eating those foods do you eat anything with any nutrition in? Not asking in a judgey way, my daughter has arfid. She's 8 years old but since the age of 3 has eaten exclusively chips or toast with butter on and occasionally red walkers Crisps. She now has a mickey button which is for tube feeding through her stomach due to how malnourished she became due to the lack of nutrients. She is immunocompromised because of it, we were one of the lucky ones and our Dr's followed her closely some don't and their have been people die from it. Have you sought out help from your gp or had your Bloods checked? Being able to keep your body nourished may help with some of the binge behaviours. Don't be afraid to seek help.

Huel has a decent macronutrient split and also gets micronutrients into you. You aren't eating enough protein, you need protein to feel sated.

I'm autistic and adhd and really struggle with food in that I don't cook and I hate preparing stuff. I was living on biscuits and cereal. I've managed to improve my diet by no longer cooking, but having nutritional things such as:

Salad leaves - very little prep
Tomatoes - just wash
Sweetheart cabbage - saute or eat raw
Cheese - cottage mainly
Pumpkin seeds
Greek Yoghurt
Mixed nuts
Fruit
Cooked chicken
Ribs - just in the air fryer
Low sugar muesli with almond milk - lower calorie
Low carb crackers with some butter and scrape of marmalade as a treat

I eat no bread, cake, biscuits, sweets, sweet cereals, chocolate, fizzy pop or alcohol.

I add inulin powder to my hot drinks as it can help curb appetite. A hot chicory powder drink has the same effect.

This is mainly my diet and I've lost 8lbs recently. I calorie count as well.

Well I've managed to start eating salad again,as the weather has warmed up
So mainly bread salad crisps and vegan cheese which I've discovered I love .
I've a big family, they are half diagnosed autistic and nearly as fussy as me .
Mealtimes I just cook what they ask me to ..so most days Im cooking at least 3 different meals ,I get very overwhelmed and after I've cooked for everyone I think think what do i want to eat ...
I've also got 2 poorly dogs that I'm having to spoon feed 3 meals a day ,on chairs at the table.
So basically anything to do with food is a chore.i don't enjoy cooking,or the responsibility of trying to come up with different meals for people who only eat about 5 items
I'm permanently close to tears and or ripping my face off ( that's my overwhelmed feeling)
