I just read on another thread today that offering a second cup of tea is a cue to guests to leave 😯 I don’t feel like I should venture out of the house anymore … or have people in.

I saw that thread/post and thought eh?? With the people I know, offering a 2nd cup of tea is a sign that they're very welcome to stay longer (or the 2nd cup wouldn't be offered).

I’m doubting my social interactions now. I’d absolutely mean it as an invitation to stay longer too.

I saw this post too and same as you it got me questioning all my interactions!

I never knew that! Of course, I always leave at that point, because I'm usually exhausted from the effort of socialising during the first cup.

Good to know that I was accidentally doing the right thing :D

I'm always a bit upset if people refuse a second cup when I offer it and now I'm worried that they think I want them to leave when actually I'm enjoying their company and just want another cup of tea!!
