What sensory seeking behaviours do you have?

I've a real mixed bag of sensory avoiding and seeking behaviours. I think I'm mainly avoidant but I do have some strong seeking behaviours such as:

Eating fizzy or sour sweets
Chopping up and mixing my food together
Weighted blanket
Lots of visual sensory seeking such as watching lights and videos of kaleidoscope type images
Smelling things
Rubbing soft things on my face
Using a body brush
Tightening and relaxing muscles
Watching ASMR
Listening to 8D music where the sounds travel from one ear to the other
Shaking or crinkling things next to my ear

What sensory seeking behaviours do you have?

food. junk food sadly... and it shows.

when stressed I also like to put stress on my joints which is not good as I am hypermobile and this is a very bad thing to do. trying to stretch out the muscles instead.

Rocking...

What kind of things? Like bending your fingers backwards?

Knees, elbows and shoulders bent in ways they should not be.

Eg twisting arms round the wrong way (elbows and shoulders) or hyperextending knees.

Problem is it feels great but will lead to pain later.

Oh and I chew on cloth.

Oh and I chew on cloth.

My DS used to do that a lot. Frayed all his sleeves.

I do a lot of body contortions or will find that I'm pulling my lips out or pressing parts of my face and things like that. I don't realise I'm doing it and then think it must look odd.

i so glad to read this to be honest

I am massively sensory avoiding for sure

but have a lot of sensory seeking also! Which is so weird
so I have lots of soft toys and blankets, spend a lot of time of the floor, chew through headphone cables and clothes or sometimes my hand! i got a sensory tube with glitter and colours in it. I jump and rock and all of that
for someone that HATES noise i am the noisiest person ever cos when under stress I even vocal stim a lot which does upset me sometimes. But I am generally noisy and loud 😬
I love the windmills that generates power and will often just go to seafront to watch them which I found out is also a stim which I Never realised
sometimes I wander round charity shops just feeling all the soft toys 🧸 I have waaay to many soft toys
