A Merry Christmas to everyone on the ND board; if this is a difficult day for you, I hope it will go as well as it can.

Best wishes and hope everyone has coped best they could.

At the age of 51 and with a (soon to be assessed) 11 yr old DD, I've finally ensured that things would be done our way. It has been possibly the most relaxed Christmas ever.

We still feel a little bit overwhelmed, but have had loads of time to be us, be quiet and be alone. Thankfully.

I've read some of the horror stories on MN this past few days, and I am way beyond coping with extended family and expectations.

Whenever anyone undiagnosed comes on this board and asks "what would be the benefit of a diagnosis?" I'd say to accept yourself, live your authentic life (sorry that sounds wanky) and ultimately be able to say no to people.

This is so good to hear @RainbowZebraWarrior. I am cheering you on.

Being able to share this approach with your daughter is the best Christmas present ever and hopefully means she wont have to learn it the hard way herself xx
