does elvanse wear off after a few months?

I've been on elvanse for a year or so. It WAS brilliant, but I am now in total overwhelm and not managing at all. Do you get used to it and need a bigger dose in time?

Or, when you are menopausal - does ADHD meds need tweaking?

I can't get a clear idea from google.

I'm late to this party but I'll reply anyway!

I have also been on Elvanse for about a year. I was on 50mg for several months and then I felt the effects lessening so I was put up to 60mg about three months ago, which helped a bit but wasn't life changing.

I started a new job a month ago (back to a 9-5 role after keeping my own hours as a PhD student since 2020) and noticed my focus really slipping in the afternoon. I have just started splitting my dose so 30mg first thing in the morning and another 30mg at lunchtime, and that seems to be working much better for me.

I know a few people who split their dose or taking a different medication as a boost later in the day so it's worth talking to your prescriber.

I recently tired elvanse (30mg), but I felt nothing at all. If anything I felt like my symptoms were worse on it. I'm now back on my original medication and feel a lot better managing life.

splitting a dose sounds like a good idea.

As does microdosing mushrooms. I'm getting desperate!

I am in perimenopause and it definately has an effect on the medication. I have found I needed a higher top up dose and also started HRT. I was told that when you have PMDD which I also have reduces the benefits.
