I've just seen this on Instagram and I relate so much!
DH often just repeats the last few words and gets annoyed when I've no idea what he said before that.

Anyone else?

Yes!

I do have the added issue of severe hearing loss so it feels like a double whammy.

I wish people would just repeat the entire sentence. It would make life so much easier.

Yes! I have this as well as hearing loss. It explained so much after I got diagnosed.

OMG I could have wrote that. I have APD (not diagnosed but I'm certain I have it) and that is exactly what happens with my husband when I ask him to repeat things. It's infuriating because he'll repeat the last half of what he says a few times. I ask him to repeat the whole thing but he gets all huffy and sometimes refuses so often times I just pretend to know what he's talking about and nod or say ugh huh just to avoid having to ask him to repeat himself.

I think one of the reasons I don't socialise much at all anymore is because I can't "hear" what people are saying. Everyone around me are having conversations but I just nod along most of the time. I can "hear" so many different conversations but I can't focus on anything, even the person sitting right next to me. Even more so if there's music.

I'm a musician and music teacher and people just don't understand that music is just "noise" unless I'm making the music myself or at a concert where there is no other noise(s) competing for my attention.
