Chewy necklaces

My son has chewed the arm off his glasses, which is annoying as this pair are only a couple months old and we got them to replace a pair he lost!

I was thinking it might be nice for him to have something more appropriate to chew on and I remembered an acquaintance at University had like a chewy necklace. I can’t remember the name of it. I’ve done a Google search, there’s loads on Amazon but I don’t really trust Amazon.

Does anyone have any recommendations? I don’t want to buy him something unsafe.

I know this isn't what you asked (for that, I've heard the Chewelry brand is good, but I have no experience), but I wonder if perhaps a chewable pen/pen topper would be a better substitute? It's more similar to the glasses arm in shape and chewing sensation, and also might stand out from the crowd less than chunky chewable jewellery, if that's something that's relevant in his situation.

I've got mine off sensory direct before (I too was dubious about random amazon ones!)

My daughter has a diamond-design chewelry necklace from ARK: www.arktherapeutic.com/chewelry/

She often chews through the straws of her water bottles so we went for the hardest option and it seems to work well 👍🏻 She doesn't like wearing it at school as the other kids don't have one, but she often wears it at the weekend or just has a chew while she's doing other stuff, such as drawing.

Thank you. A pen topper sounds good idea too as it’s probably less conspicuous at school. I might get him both. He chews a lot of gum at home but he’s not allowed it at school.

I use one of these www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B00TE2E46G?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title

My ds is an avid chewer and we tried lots of different chewlery from different places but the only ones we found that lasted more than a day are the US autism society branded chewlery you can get it in the UK through amazon or direct from the US society but the p&p is ridiculous

If a necklace doesn't work, a bracelet might be more discreet.
