Books for autistic parents of autistic children?

DS2 has recently been diagnosed with autism, and I've come to the realisation over a number of years that he and I are very very similar in many traits Grin however we do often butt heads.

My assessment of the literature so far is that there are books explaining autism to presumed NT people, and books explaining autism/offering coping advice to adults/children with autism. What I haven't seen is a book saying 'So you are a person with autism, and your child has autism too. Here are some tips for living together in harmony'. Do these exist? Any recommendations for such would be very welcome, thank you!

Same situation here. I've also not found anything that hits the mark but two books that I've found very helpful are Odd Girl Out by Laura James, and How to Raise a Happy Autistic Child by Jessie Hewitson.

Fab, thank you for the recommendation! I saw the second of those in a bookshop today but was dithering over purchasing. Have you read 'The autistic spectrum' by Lorna Wing? I wasn't sure if it was still considered acceptable, given that it talks about Aspergers...

I haven't read that one. I've been surprised by how much I still find references to Asbergers, high-functioning, etc, most notably from my own (NHS) psychiatrist and care coordinator.
