Health issues- to stop fasting?

Assalamu Alaikum, I am a revert and this is my second Ramadan . I have been having heart palpitations and this past month I was unwell in hospital with an illness and they treated me with lots of fluids to help with my heart palpitations I was having because of my illness. I am worried because my weight went down a lot because of my illness earlier in the month (I have healed from the illness now) but fasting is probably making my weight get even lower and now my heart is beating very fast again. Should I break my fast? I find it hard to know when the hardship of fasting is too much and I need to stop for my health. Last year I was feeling very fatigued from fasting but carried on despite struggling a lot to get out of bed. Any advice would be much appreciated, I am sad to be too unwell to fast but I am worried for my health.

thank you in advance❤️

Wasalam op wanted to reply to you. If you have any kind of illness it is completely allowed not to fast. In fact it is much better that you don't and don't risk your health. Fasting is not meant to be a hardship Allah swt is immensely merciful and wants ease for us not hardship. You can always make up fasts inshallah once health improves or pay fidya. Plus you can pray and do other dhikr

Wasalaam, I think it's best to hold off on fasting until you've properly recovered insha'Allah. You could also contact your local masjid for advice about whether to give fidya or aim to make up fasts later; they may know experienced Muslim doctors who could advise you on what to do.

Fasting may be what people first think of in Ramadan, but it isn't the only thing happening. There's so much more that people can still do without fasting, with reading and reflecting on the Qur'an, furthering knowledge, doing acts of kindness, giving to charity, spending time with family and friends...

May Allah grant you a speedy recovery, sister.

Thank you both for your replies, you have reassured me I am doing the right thing. I have stopped fasting for today and will focus on my learning and recitation❤️I felt a lot of guilt for stopping in case I was not unwell enough, especially when i’m just really fatigued because I know that fasting does mean we’re going to have less energy

Wa'alaykumus salam
If you have an illness that prevents you from fasting or will cause your health to deteriorate, then you are excused from fasting but you have to make up for it once you are better outside of Ramadan. Hope you feel better soon inshAllah! 💕

Asalamu Alaykoum. I would run it by your Dr. And also I would call Ask Huds and speak to a sheikh. They are on YT and have a website.
You need to get confirmation from the.DR it is ok to fast. Especially if you have yet times to take heart medications. My FIL has stopped since he had angina as he has meds to take throughout the day.

It you can't fast you then feed 1 person for the entire month of ramadan or 30 people.
