Pls can I ask a question about Ramadan and Eid? (Related to my profession!)

Happy Eid everyone! I hope everyone's having a lovely time!

Just a quick question - I work in marketing for a company that produces gift-worthy food items (think boxes of chocolates, for example)

If I was designing an in store display to co-incide with the period of Ramadan and then Eid, would you expect (or would it be right) for there to be a message saying something like "Celebrate Ramadan and Eid with xx Chocolates"?

I think I've only ever actually seen the Eid occasion mentioned on marketing materials, but im not sure as I know gifts are sometimes given to break the daily fast.

What's most appropriate in your opinion please? (Would be something like a mainstream UK supermarket environment)

Thank you in advance! x

There are two Eids.

One comes after a month of fasting (that month is called Ramadan) and is called Eid ul Fitr.

The Eid just gone (yesterday) is called Eid Al Adha and comes after the pilgrimage (Hajj) Muslims make to Mecca.

If your marketing materials are referring to the Eid just gone, it would be incorrect to say "celebrate Ramadan" as that was a few months ago now.

And if your marketing materials are referring to Eid ul Fitr, it would make sense to say "celebrate Ramadan and Eid with xx chocolates" only say at the beginning of Ramadan, before Ramadan or in the middle of the month, but it might be a bit lame to be given chocolates saying celebrate Ramadan at the end of Ramadan when Eid actually is. Think someone giving you an advent calendar a few days before Christmas. I hope that helps and makes sense!

That absolutely makes sense! Thank you so much! x

Another thing that could be worth considering in advance of the display or advertising campaign is whether the chocolates or other food products are actually halal.

When I was out shopping for things, I saw a similar display to what you're describing but literally none of the food items available were halal when I checked the ingredients. Things like alcohol or animal products like gelatine in chocolates or sweets mean they aren't halal.
