So whose everyone voting for?

I'm thinking SNP. Not Labour!

I would never Labour or Tory.

Under this current UK government, Islamophobia is a very day norm.

I won't vote SNP too

changefromhr · 10/04/2024 05:49

Sadly, and never thought I would ever say this, I'm not going to vote. Labour have lost my vote over Gaza.

BunniesRUs · 10/04/2024 08:16

@Guavafish1 - I think we've got into a habit of voting Labour to keep the tories out and its just a case of lurching from one side to another.

I completely understand your perspective @changefromhr . Perhaps you would consider at least spoling your vote so it's counted.

I did read rumours online about Jeremy Corbyn setting up a new party and that gives me a little bit of hope as I am bit politically homeless right now (not that I am very loyal to any party).

I'm voting green or independent. Labour lost my vote because of Gaza and their ongoing treatment of Diane Abbot.

WeightoftheWorld · 10/04/2024 16:29

Do you mean in local or national elections?

Locally I won't vote Labour as our councillors are rubbish. Would vote Green or Lib Dem or possibly for an independent who is standing. It is a protest vote I guess essentially as the Labour councillors have a big majority.

National elections I will probably vote Labour only because we have a really good local MP. And again unless I want to protest vote theres not really any point in voting at all anyway as it will be an easy Labour win. But overall I'm totally fed up of the Labour party and though they're certain to win the next election, I can't see any aspect of my life improving at all.

therealcookiemonster · 10/04/2024 16:41

while labour has ticked me right off with their response to the situation in Gaza, they are the only option to keep tories out. whatever Labour are, they are better than tories. we have had 14 years of tory rule and they are totally flushing the country down the toilet.

If enough of us don't vote/vote for parties that won't win, we can end up with tories back in parliament - that will be like cutting of our nose to spite our face.

but tories have been in power for the last 14 years? it's under their watch that islamophobia has become much much worse. labour definitely have their own issues but it is nowhere near as bad. partly labour has been struggling to appropriately respond to the situation in Gaza because they are terrified of being labelled as antisemitic again.

SNP. Humza Yousaf has conducted himself with integrity and won my support back to the SNP.

I also appreciate Anas Sarwar's recent position, but an obstacle to voting for Scottish Labour in the GE is that it's not just Scottish Labour, it's putting Starmer in Number 10.

Scirocco · 10/04/2024 17:23

If I were south of the border, I'd probably vote tactically to remove the Tories if possible, either Lib Dem or Green, in hope of Labour getting more seats than the Tories but few enough that they would need a coalition-type agreement to get things done.

Playtennistops · 10/04/2024 21:33

I'll never vote Labour again. I might not vote until there's a decent party to vote for.

headstone · 10/04/2024 22:34

I will either voteid dem or green , not that it matters as I live in a Tory safe seat.

ZK1 · 11/04/2024 15:50

Lib Dem or Green. I’m done with Labour and conservatives
