DHs best friends band is on the main stage at Wychwood this year so I have booked tickets.

Am v excited and nervous at the same time! Lots of our friends are going, we aren't camping though, have dd (3.7) and ds (7 months) so have booked luxury apartment in Cheltenham town centre which has more facilities and actually cheaper then "boutique" camping on site!

Can anyone tell me of their experiences, bit worried about how ds might handle it!

I'm going!

I will be camping with DS2 (10). I usually go to Womad so this is my first time at Wychwood. We've always had a fab time. I usually take DD (11) who has sn but her behaviour has taken the worse (hormones methinks), so she will be staying with Granny while myself and the boy jig to the Levellers et al.

What's the name of the band?

Oooh... in answer to your question about your DS. I'd get some little ear defenders for both him and your DD.
Otherwise, I think they'll love it. There will be lots to look at!

I will look out for him!

There was a group of MNers who were talking about going... I'll have a look for the thread.

I've bumped the other thread... it's in the Lone Parents section. There's a link for ear defenders on the last page.

I'm going with DS1 18 (he is ASD) and DS3 8 and a friend and his two boys 7 and 10 and his new girlfriend. This is the third year I have been. It is full of young families and DS3 just goes feral, running around and making friends. The festival area is very open so my feral child is easily spotted and there are loads of kids activities.

The campsite is in the middle of the racecourse, lovely soft grass and you can drive to where you put up the tent though you have to return your car to the carpark after.

There was an issue with tent robbing on the friday night 2 years ago but they improved patrols last year and so far as I am aware there was no crime all weekend; very few teenagers so not much rowdiness, more people getting merry on cider.

There is access to hot running water and the racecourse loos, the foodstalls are good. The only downside is, as with all festivals, the amount of money I spend on food drink and giving cash to DS3 to buy hippyshit and go on the bouncy slide.

Mumsnet meetup?????
