Was listening to the radio yesterday when that song came on....

Him, him, him
What's she gonna do about him
She's gonna have to do without him
Or do without
Me, me, me
Etc

Ooh, I had a moment of guilty pleasure. Missed who sang it though..

I also liked Dean Friedman:

You can thank your lucky stars
That we're not as smart
as you'd like to think we are...
(with the memorable lines... "Did you see Lisa? Yes i saw Lisa? That why you're angry. I wasn't angry.)

And the Pina Calada one.

I need an ablum of naff American songs immediately

PuppyMonkey - you want the compilation cds "Guilty Pleasures" - there are at least two, which proudly feature many of the naffest of the naff mentioned on this thread.

We play them in the car. My dc know all the words to Pina Colada, Lonely Boy, January etc. Its so funny.

PuppyMonkey · 06/09/2009 10:51

argh. I have billy Joe McAllister going round in my head now.

IdontMN2makecopyforlazyjournos · 06/09/2009 11:00

Whitesnake - "Is this love?"

In the video the chaps have bigger hair than the girls. 80s fabulousness.

PuppyMonkey · 06/09/2009 11:07

Well, well said the rockin' chair.....

Dean Friedman again. Gotta love him.

well, well said the rocking chair?

AvengingGerbil · 06/09/2009 11:11

I've always been bemused by 'Only women bleed' - either profoundly biologically wrong or just a weird song about menstruation??

PuppyMonkey · 06/09/2009 11:12

I probably got the words wrong.... It's another Dean Friedman classic!!!

ZZZenAgain · 06/09/2009 11:14

Dean Friedman eh? Will investigate on youtube. No idea what that song is.

Only women bleed! Fgs what a load of crap the lyrics were in those days. They must have been stoned or rolling about laughing writing that stuff - maybe both.

ZZZenAgain · 06/09/2009 11:17

found it
oh dear

"oh no, said the balcony, if it's pity you want don't come to me" and the rest seems to be "alright, it's gonna be alright"

PuppyMonkey · 06/09/2009 12:11

Thanks Zen... I didn't realise it got so bad!!

There's one called 'no charge' its american (!) and i think its a man singing to start with and tells the tale of the little boy who gives his 'mom' a list of jobs he's done and how much he expects to be paid for them and then a woman starts singing mom's reply which starts 'for the nine months i carried you growing inside me - no charge', and so on, it was brill! ANd there was a song called Liverpool Lullaby by Cilla BLack which I loved 'oh you are a mucky kid, dirty as a dustbin lid' something about being naughty and then 'you'll gerra belt from your da' (very p.c.!). THis is a brill thread, i loved 'honey' and the deck of cards and of course has anyone mentioned 'two little boys' ??
