You know those songs from your youth that were okay... you could take them or leave them really, then you hear them again years later and think "WOW!" How could I not have loved that first time round?"

I heard thisthe other day and I am ashamed to admit that I didn't realise how bloody good it is!

What's yours?

Queen from the 70s / Early 80s

PigeonPie · 06/01/2009 22:15

The Cranberries - Dreams. Didn't really like it at the time, but love it now!

Love early Queen though - A Night at the Opera is just a fantastic album.

fryalot · 06/01/2009 22:16

oh queen, yeah I've rediscovered a few of theirs

Funnily enough, I put Dreams on my mp3 player this afternoon

Pearl's a Singer, by Elkie Brooks

PigeonPie · 06/01/2009 22:25

It's here on Play. Starting with Phil Collins 'you can't hurry love'. I had them on tape, but got rid of them a few years ago. Am I really sad to be excited about it coming out?

PigeonPie · 06/01/2009 22:27

PBR - A Night at the Opera is always in my CD changer in the car no matter what else is in there. Just love it.

fryalot · 06/01/2009 22:27

oh I am so going to have to buy that!

(no, you're not sad at all... just old )

PortBlacksandResident · 06/01/2009 22:35

Oooh yes Queen and..............Christopher Lambert!!!!!

retiredgoth2 · 06/01/2009 22:36

...good call, Squonk.

I always hated this by the C**t at the time.

...however, I must confess it still holds up, and is a splendid pop song....

PigeonPie · 06/01/2009 22:38

and agree with PBR

Nothing to be embarrassed about watching the original Highlander - that was quite good - it was the others which weren't!

margaret40 · 08/01/2009 18:57

Just look at the hair!

Oh, I loved 'Say Hello...' at the time (well about three years after the time, which was when I first heard it, IYSWIM). Also like 'She Sells Sanctuary'.

My recent rediscoveries are: 'Goodbye Lucille' by Prefab Sprout and 'Digging Your Scene' by the Blow Monkeys - both hold up pretty well I think.
