Did you see that documentary on Metallica recently?.Twas good.Metallica remind me of my carefree student days. There is an alternative club i went to in my younger days that always used to play Metallica as their final song.Happy memories of having no cares in life....

MrsNormanMaine · 17/11/2008 00:25

I'm walking backwards for Christmas - Spike Milligan

gigglewitch · 17/11/2008 00:30

hi 2shoooos and co

how bout anything by Prick astley
though maybe he only did the one anyway

brightongirldownunder · 17/11/2008 00:39

Hey GW, don't diss the Rick. They said he was a young Max Bygraves, now that's something to be proud of.

MrsNormanMaine · 17/11/2008 00:40

Max Bygraves was never young.

brightongirldownunder · 17/11/2008 00:42

Jesus he was born that way?
His poor mother

gigglewitch · 17/11/2008 00:44

erm, ok brighton. If you say so.

he's from "round 'ere" y'see.
whole class of teens I teach were sl@gging him off last week when he'd won the award-thingy until quiet child in corner pipes up "Actually he's my cousin"

MrsNormanMaine · 17/11/2008 00:45

I know - and Arthur Askey's mum had the same shocking experience.

brightongirldownunder · 17/11/2008 00:46

Haha. Love the fact that teens were slagging off Bygraves!
Could the quiet child have actually been a small adult?

chipmonkey · 17/11/2008 01:47

Ag-ah-doo-doo-doo
push pineapple, shake a tree........

mayorquimby · 19/11/2008 14:38

"Hallelujah " but the two most famous versions of that song are better than the original by leonard cohen.

i'll take jeff buckley and john cales versions over the original even though the original is still brilliant

CrushaGrape · 19/11/2008 14:46

The worst Hallelujahs are the Jon Bon Jovi and Sheryl Crow versions - they are equally awful.

K D Lang had a nice one. John Cale's is my favourite.

Zazette · 19/11/2008 14:56

Rufus Wainwright does 'Hallelujah' beautifully. But you can't beat his cover of the Trolley Song...

UnquietDad · 19/11/2008 14:59

"Bohemian Rhapsody" has of course been done by a few people, including... G4!!

Myself I'd say "The Man With the Child In His Eyes", and I have already gone on record elsewhere about how much I hate Hue and Cry for even attempting it.

PuppyMonkey · 19/11/2008 15:08

Seal has just done a version of Sam Cooke's A Change is Gonna Come.... Nooooooooooooooooooooooo! It is so wrong.

UnquietDad · 19/11/2008 15:10

Actually I quite like that... Seal has done it well.

PuppyMonkey · 19/11/2008 15:13

Oh no, I mean I know the notes are all there and he has a good voice and all. But it's just so.... meh!.... compared to the original.

That is the first time I've used the word meh.
