Wedding recessional music ideas?

Hi everyone, I'm getting married next month and we are stuck trying to pick music to walk back sown the aisle after the ceremony. My fiancé wants classical music, like Vivaldi or Handel, which I think is a bit too traditional and stuffy. I would prefer something more modern like a pop song but with our 2 musicians playing it instrumentally, but he thinks that's tacky. We can just go with one or the other, we're not going to fall out over it, but I keep thinking there must be something in between that we'd both like. The 'theme' of our wedding is Modern Classic anyway, is there any music that fits that style?

What songs or pieces of music mean something to you both, from your time together so far?

Would a jazz classic be a good compromise between classical and pop - something like A Kiss to Build a Dream On - Louis Armstrong
Or It's De-lovely - Ella Fitzgerald

Or Cheek to Cheek - Ella and Louis, or Sinatra

Are you having musicians playing or?

Tokyo Meyers may merge for both of you if not.

For your dhs side I have to suggest Brahms Hungarian dance ss I think it could be fun to walk back together with.

Arrival of the Queen of Sheba is good or something more modern like L-O-V-E by Nat King Cole?

Yes we have 2 musicians. One playing piano, the second plays both violin and saxophone and will bring both. Having said that if there's a recessional song we really want played on cd we can do that.

I've just asked alexa to play Arrival by the Queen of Sheba and I must say I quite like it. It's nicely upbeat and cheerful for a wedding. Thanks for the suggestion!
And L-O-V-E has long been one of my favourite songs! I wasn't sure how right it would be for a recessional because we had thought Instrumental, but now you've got me considering it....

Ah, the classic vs. modern music debate! Since you're going for a 'Modern Classic' vibe, why not meet in the middle? Instrumental covers of pop songs by groups like Vitamin String Quartet or The Piano Guys give you that elegant live-music feel without being stuffy think their version of A Thousand Years or Viva La Vida. Film scores (Up, Jurassic Park) also work surprisingly well! If you're still unsure, this wedding music guide has great tips on balancing personal taste with practicality. (Pro tip: Let your musicians suggest songs they love playing it’ll sound even better!)

We had Grieg's Wedding Day at Troldhaugen which is fab - orchestral versions in particular are really joyful.
