Hi - so have finally secured two tickets for Taylor Swift. Its states minimum age is 14 for standing. My daughter is 11. Will they be checking ages upon entry? How would they do that? Thanks ☺️

@MN224 why does it matter what ID was accepted in Stockholm? Different stadium have different rules, I think Paris you had to be 16, what the door staff do and don't accept won't be "Eras Tour" specific, it's more likely to be Stadium specific. Also your daughter is too young.

Passport or citizen card.

What ID did they have? Thanks

Passports or Swedish ID cards. I assume the ones near us were under age, as they didn’t have Swedish accents so would have passports to get here.

Simonjt · 19/05/2024 19:48

The venue you’re going too will likely state on their website what they consider appropriate ID.

Fluffycloudsfloatinginthesky · 19/05/2024 19:48

@MN224 - it was 16 for Olivia R. Luckily she had a 16+ oyster.

mitogoshi · 19/05/2024 19:51

They are pretty strict in the U.K., checking ids for anyone under around 21

murasaki · 19/05/2024 19:52

You're going to end up with a distraught kid. Why didn't you look up the rules in advance and adhere to them?

TidyDancer · 19/05/2024 19:58

They will be very hot on checking ID. I suspect you are planning to take an older sibling's passport or something like this. It's frankly a really stupid plan. I would throw your efforts into trying to swap tickets for seated. There will be so many young children going to this that they will be far more careful to adhere to the rules.

I did it’s age 14

Does it state age limits on the tickets themselves ? I have standing tickets for Zurich and I can’t see anything about age restrictions other than under 14 have to be accompanied by an adult

It’ll be for Dublin. I’m not planning on being very near the front and as we are standing we can move. Even if we had of got seated tickets people usually stand anyway?

People don't move. I was at Olivia concert and once in the standing area people stay stick still so they don't lose their place. You can't even get out to go to the loo or get a drink. You'll be stuck where you end up.
This is by the by anyway as they won't let an 11 year old in.

Mama1980 · 19/05/2024 20:19

My niece went last night, my sil said the only ID they would accept was a passport. They wouldn't take my sil's word - luckily she's over 14 so it was fine.

QueenofFox · 19/05/2024 20:23

Paris wasn't checking IDs, very very relaxed entry so I think it's v country/stadium specific

And yet you bought the tickets knowing your kid is 11.

Christ on a bike. This is on you.

Simonjt · 19/05/2024 20:50

A quick google shows the promoters for Dublin only accept passport, driving license and a garda age card.

WhereTheSpiritMeetsTheBones · 19/05/2024 20:50

Is it true that people with seated tickets stand the whole time anyway? Seems unfair for people who bought seated tickets cos they want to sit down, and won't be able to see anything!

Most venues have a statement at the time of booking that states people around you may stand. Fine to stand, fine to sit if you prefer.

Isitchill · 19/05/2024 21:07

Seated people stand too so they can dance.

So the only option for an 11 Yr old (or indeed a 14 Yr old) is a passport. Garda Age Cards are 18+.

Good luck @MN224 🤞

Don’t have passport. Birth certificate will have to do.
