Restarting piano- and theory!

I'm finally restarting piano lessons next week, after giving up as a 12 year old (thirty years ago). I've found a teacher and explained that I'd like to do the graded exams. I passed grade 4 and was working on grade 5 when I gave up, years ago. I've dug out some of my old grade 4 exam pieces and have practised them in preparation for the lesson, but am unsure on where to start with theory. Can anyone advise? I'm hoping that the teacher will suggest sitting grade 5 theory and practical after a period of getting back into it. Does this sound realistic- or should I redo e.g. grade 3 theory or get some theory books in the meantime?
I'm sure my teacher will have some ideas about this but I'd like to hear from others who may have suggestions.

I don’t know much about the levels but there’s a really good free online course on music theory by Edinburgh university. You can find it on Coursera.

Assuming you will be taking ABRSM exams, I’d get some of their theory workbooks and just crack on with those. You don’t need to take any of the theory exams except Grade 5 (when you are ready to).

Thanks both. Yes, it would be ABRSM exams, so I'll get some books and go from there. Good plan- thanks
