We are going to have to upgrade DDs keyboard as the one we have doesn’t have weighted keys. She’s been having lessons for a year now and it’s starting to have an effect.
Many months ago we went to a music shop in a city (we have nowhere local) and we were recommended the Casio CDP-S100.
Before we commit I wanted to see if anyone else had any other suggestions. DH and I never played keyboard so we are a bit lost, her teacher grew up with a piano and has a very very expensive keyboard and isn’t that helpful in getting one.
No room for a real piano btw!

Not the Casio, they really are not good.

I recommend Yamaha or Roland. Or maybe Kawai. Personal preference as to which touch is preferred.

I bought one of these recently because it's more portable and I need to take it out and about sometimes. A professional piano player friend recommended it, he'd spent quite a few hours looking at different ones and decided on this. Unlike many of them It's relatively light but does still have an authentic touch and tone. There are some good you tube videos demonstrating it. It's a decent price, I don't think you would get anything very realistic for much less tbh.

I have a Casio Celviano and it suits me very well. It is slightly bigger and heavier than just a keyboard on a stand but not as big as a piano. Lots of features as well.

I was bought a Yamaha electric piano as a young teenager and it is still going strong now I'm in my 30s. It also travelled really well when I moved house. I prefer it in the house to a real piano as it takes up leas space, doesn't need tuning and has a headphone option so disturbing neighbours isn't an issue.
