I have a DS, almost 9 weeks old, who loves to be sang to! I'd like to learn some more songs to keep us both interested so was wondering, what's your favourite song to sing to/with a child?
My old fashioned favourite is 'horsey horsey' and my modern favourite is 'the little green frog'
Thanks! I will look them up and learn the ones I like too!

My current favourites are 'I have a little spider' and 'put your finger on your head' - both which you can make up extra verses for. I love the books 'okki-toki-unga' and 'the funny family' for more inspiration!

Excellent, thanks polly! Will google both - they sound good. Will look up the books too. Grin

We sing the classics like "old McDonald", do your ears hang low, aga doo, head shoulders knees and toes and "incey wincey spider" during the day. We also have some not so classics. Ds is a big fan of the Tweenies (to sing and dance, not watch), s club 7 and the Krankies (the shame!)

At night, we have "you've got a friend", daisy daisy, you are my sunshine, twinkle twinkle, my bonnie lies over the ocean, baby mine (dumbo) and various others that I hum.

Poor kids. I'm painfully tone deaf!

Incey Wincey Spider is a good one, think I can remember that (and much more appropriate than incest Wincey spider as my iPhone would have it) I think I remember hearing 'do your ears hang low' once before and liking it, I'll look it up. I like the silly ones/ones with actions and surprises the best. We do 'down by the river' for bath time. Smile

Dd is 4mo and she loves songs. We sing "five little ducks went swimming one day" in the bath..."pat-a-cake"....we have a little nursery rhyme book so I sing a few out of there.

I also tend to sing bits of pop songs when talking to her so if shes dancing on the floor I sing Brim Full of Asher...when shes trying to roll I sing Rollin Rollin Rollin Rawhide etc etc. Blush

Five little ducks is a good one madame, I know all the signs for it too! Grin

madame, I know basic makaton sign language which is very similar to baby signing and learned that song with makaton signs as was working in a school at the time! Not sure if you'll find them by googling?Smile
