Fleetwood Mac last year :( I asked DH if we could go and he wouldn't.

kittya · 14/08/2010 22:42

yes they are. Abit like Depeche Mode. I never understood how they got so huge but I loved their earlier stuff, used to fancy Dave Gahn like mad.

age is just a number Grin

Thomcat · 14/08/2010 22:58

I saw Stevie Wonder for the second time a month or so ago and thought to myself then that all the people I consider classics I've seen - Dylan (lots) / U2 / Micheal Jackson / U2 / Prince / Oasis / James Brown / Red Hot Chilli Peppers / Diana Ross / Luther Vandross are all the main ones I can think of.
Can't think of anyone that I'm gutted not to have seen....... ........ maybe Queen would be the only one missing from my list.

kittya · 14/08/2010 23:05

I wouldve loved to have seen Prince in a small venue. Ive seen him a couple of times but I missed his prime I think. I was disappointed with Stevie but I think it was just the size of the crowd.

David Bowie is someone I would loved to have seen in his prime

tummytickler · 14/08/2010 23:08

Michael Jackson

And I did see Freddie Mercury but I was 16 and I would love to have seen him again at an age when I really appreciated him.Sad

marriednotdead · 14/08/2010 23:34

Love this thread.
U2, Simple Minds, Bob Marley.
Saw UB40 mid 1990's but wish I'd seen them sooner. Similar story with Alexander O'Neal.

marriednotdead · 14/08/2010 23:35

Oh, and Gloria Estefan Blush

chipmonkey · 14/08/2010 23:39

U2 are not dead. Bono's back is better now so he will be touring again.

ShrinkingViolet · 14/08/2010 23:43

turned down the chance to meet David Bowie socially in late 80s which I do regret now a bit.

autodidact · 14/08/2010 23:43

Pulp too. Queued for hours to get in when they played in Glasgow but it was not to be. I was gutted.

kittya · 14/08/2010 23:46

SV see my thread re guestlists, your regret wont be so big!!

I loved Pulp and still do, they never really announced a split did they? when I used to go out in Camden years ago he was always out with his wacky hangers on. I still cant believe I never got to see them play!

blueshoes · 14/08/2010 23:47

galletti · 15/08/2010 00:01

sharbie · 15/08/2010 00:23

TitsalinaBumSquash · 15/08/2010 00:26

Michael Jackson and Nirvana, Queen all the legends really.

SpringHeeledJack · 15/08/2010 00:27

I missed Pulp at Glastonbury in ??95

...you know- the one where Jarvis realised that they'd finally Made It as the crowd sang along to Common People

I was watching the fucking Shamen on the other stage elsewhere

The Undertones (DH did, grr)

Talking Heads.

Never had the chance of either mind.

Missed The Smiths and The Fall at Royal Albert Hall because Johnny Marr broke his finger. Had seen the Smiths already tho.

Ahhh, seen Bob Dylan (twice, agree very variable), The Cure (about four times, bizarrely, inc glasto again), Prince, Bowie (twice, yummmy).
