I live in a council property 2 bed I live on the second floor without a lift there are 30 plus stairs to get to my flat, I have health conditions a spinal prolapse disc and osteoarthritis in both knees. I have to walk up all of them stairs carrying groceries holding my youngest pulling the pram up the stairs. I have told my housing office and was told nothing can be done as i am on band b i have to just bid. My eldest child is 9 and i have a 3 year old. My eldest son has been diagnosed with ADHD he is extremely impulsive not aware of danger like he could be and can't play outside unsupervised as my health conditions restrict me from going up and down the stairs to check on him. He is unable to share a bedroom with his sibling as he doesn't drift off promptly. My eldest is on child DLA but i wanted to move from my council property to private as i know we will most likely be given a 3 bed as he will be entitled to his own room and a garden for supervised play. Has anyone been down this route or can give positive advice please.

Don't know anything about this, but it sounds awful they can't prioritise moving you about! I'm so sorry to hear that.

Giving you a bump in hopes someone with more knowledge is currently awake, like me.

I would strongly advise not giving up your council property to go private. You will have little to no security. Get in touch with your GP explaining everything that you have said here. You should apply for a move on medical grounds. Ask your GP, or citizens advice for help.
