Negative financial/other 'side effects' of diagnosis?

Hi. So, this isn't about other people responding in crap ways. I'm sure there would be a few.

I'm more concerned with a diagnosis potentially increasing my living costs (insurance?) Or limiting it in some way (driving?).

I'm not currently diagnosed or in the process just have a long held suspicion as so much resonates. A recent work issue has brought it all to the fore and I'm considering whether having a label would help matters.

Has anyone got any advice please?

You could contact some insurance companies and ask. I can't see it making a difference for driving.

In employment law I know that you don't have to declare/disclose it an interview stage or when you are offered the job. But then once you are employed if you choose to disclose it then they are obliged to make reasonable adjustments.

Thank you chubbycatt that's useful to know

It can put your travel/life insurance up but not massively. For driving the DVLA don’t need it disclosing so long as it doesn’t affect your driving.

Thank you. Definitely something to bear in mind then
