Gloves when you have sensory issues

Can anyone recommend gloves that don't irritate and make you feel all twitchy? I really struggle but I'm out in all weathers every day and my hands end up cracked if I don't wear gloves.

I think it depends that bothers you about gloves.

I have some sheepskin mittens that are roomy because they’re not stretchy.

Have you tried jersey ones as well as knitted?
What about some large (maybe men’s) leather ones.

Have you tried Sensory Smart's gloves?

What activities are you doing outdoors that you need gloves for?

A bit late to this thread, but I hate gloves on my fingers and I have some cashmere wrist warmers which a friend made me. They are surprisingly good at keeping hands warm even though my fingers aren't covered.

which fabrics have you tried?

acrylic, fleece, wool, merino wool, cashmere, cotton, leather?

style: mittens, fingerless, standard 5 fingered gloves, wrist warmers?

long sleeves that pull down over your hands?

BlackeyedSusan · 10/02/2022 11:28

or wearing something under the gloves such as cotton?

I have thick sheepskin mittens, mid thickness lined leather gloves, & thin stretchy silk gloves. I could do with some knitted gloves that are thicker than the silk but thinner than the leather ones, I knit so I might have a go at bamboo gloves or mittens (bamboo is much smoother than acrylic yarn & doesn't go bobbly). I have Reynauds so I'm generally in gloves for more than half the year.

I tried ski mittens a few years ago. Extremely warm but a hassle to put on & I couldn't actually use my hands.

Same, though I wasn’t lucky enough to have a knitting friend. Got mine in the hush sale.
