Adult ADHD - Assessment

Does anyone have any experience with this?
I have managed to get a doctor to make me a referral for ADHD. I am 42.
However she says before she can refer me I have to have a blood test, An ECG and check my BMI.
Is this normal to get done before an ADHD assessment and what purpose is it for?

My dd had to have these tests after being diagnosed, so probably a good idea to have them now. As far as I remember it was a precautionary thing required before prescribing medication.

It's probably to rule out anything else they can blame it on, but possibly for meds (quantity, frequency, etc).
Good luck with your referral!

It's likely to do with meds, because for most meds they can give you you need those checking on a yearly basis so it would be to be so that they can have a baseline prior.
