Writing, podcasts, fiction, etc about autistic adults

I'm autistic and am wondering if anyone can recommend anything I can read/listen to about experiences of being an adult with autism? I don't mind if it's fiction or non-fiction, books, articles, podcasts, tv, radio, etc, but more about personal experience rather than academic/factual stuff, which I've already read a lot of. I just feel increasingly frustrated that I don't see/read much that reflects everyday life for people like me, but wondered if I'm looking in the wrong place.

Things I've come across that I've found helpful and enjoyed are The Electricity of Every Living Thing, a few things recently on Radio 4 about women with autism (Women's Hour and The Listening Project), and I came across a play called The Duck which was interesting. I quite like the 1800 Seconds podcast, but I think it's aimed more at a younger audience. Any other suggestions?

This guy on twitter is an autistic teacher and parent who writes threads about his experiences and autism in general twitter.com/commaficionado/status/1342092293352906752?s=21

Cynthia Kim writes a blog Musings of an Aspie, she's also written a book, Nerdy, Shy and Socially Inappropriate which is very much about her experiences of life both as a child & an adult

Thanks Sadik and noblegiraffe. I'll check those out. I'm not on twitter, but I think I can look without joining. Maybe it's worth joining - just worry I'll end up spending hours on there like I do somethings with FB. I'll get that Cynthia Kim book - sounds interesting.

Has anyone come across any fiction with autistic characters, apart from The Rosie Project which I really hated (too stereotyped, not really getting inside the head of the character, just all how he appeared to others as a cute, tactless, geek).

Good question. SF is maybe your best place to go for people writing their own experiences? I know the author of the Murderbot Diaries has said she's used the series that way (albeit in the person of a soap-opera loving sarcastic indentured security robot). But I read lots of SFF and little 'proper' fiction so it might just be that its where I've got more references.

Ada Hoffman has a list again I think all SFF though

Thanks Sadik. I have hardly read any SF, maybe I need to start. I've read nothing on that Ada Hoffman list - I will start googling later and find something that appeals to me.

You might also want to post on the 'what we're reading' topic, there are lots of lovely people on there & I'm sure some of them would have much better recommendations than me :)

THanks - I'll do that.
