Ear defenders for adults

long journeys in the car with the 3 DCs really hurt my ears at some point and I am looking for headphones that would block the irritating noise they can't help making. DH is driving so I could use them. On Amazon prices vary from £10 to £100. Anyone using some that they would recommend? Thanks!

I have noise cancelling headphones that I've never got around to putting the batteries into. They were a present and I use them as normal headphones. I use the £10 type ear defenders in the house when I need to shut myself off. They are fine and do the job.

I just use normal ear buds and then downloaded a brown noise app and I play that. It's lower pitched than white or pink noise and it's not intrusive. I can read whilst playing it. You might prefer not to have any noise though, in which case the noise cancelling headphones would probably be better.

I use headphones with my music or Dd3's ear defenders in the house.

Music only works if you really love it though otherwise it can become intrusive.

I usually drive when we are in the car or sleep due to motion sickness.

If you're ok with ear plugs I can recommend Quies foam plugs.
Very comfortable, and block out loads of noise.

Thanks, I will go for the cheaper version and maybe put ear plugs underneath!

Screwfix £2.99, although I brought DD the£8.99 pair which she says r really comfy and you can still hear what's going on just quieter.
