Anyone besides me go to pieces when faced with these? I get so anxious about getting them right so I procrastinate and then when I do get to it, I always fuck it up which only feeds the cycle. Advice and/or sympathy, please.

I always try to do online or computer based versions! I struggle to hand write them because I make so many mistakes and write nonsense!

If I cant find an online version I would type on separate sheets and then write see attached (page x) in every box!

Oh, God, yes! Awful. I make mistakes and don't seem to be able to put the answers in the right boxes. I don't know why. I'm an intelligent and capable person Confused

I keep putting it off if I do have anything to fill in.

Passport applications are the worst because you absolutely can't make a mistake.

Omg! I am so with you here! I absolutely go to pieces over forms. I tried to start my DS's DLA form yday and got so stressed out I had to stop. I ended up feeling really rubbish about myself and feeling like a failure. I always feel like I don't know exactly what they're asking and what kind of answer they want. I worry about getting it all right and not getting anything wrong. I feel overwhelmed and then give up! I used to be quite similar at the thought of starting essays too. Confused

I used to have panic attacks about essays. According to Tania Marshall, this is one of the ways that Aspergers presents in women. Such a relief to know that.

Isay, that's interesting. I must read more from Tania Marshall. I wonder more and more if I have Aspergers...Smile

For more complicated benefit forms such as DLA, PIP or ESA forms your local CAB or another charity might be able to assist. Go in as soon as you get the form though as they would most likely need to arrange for an appointment and there are deadlines.
