A coalition of groups (including Gingerbread, Mumsnet, Pregnant Then Screwed, the TUC, Maternity Action, the Fawcett Society, Working Families, The Fatherhood Institute and the Women’s Budget Group) have come together to ask parents across the UK about their experiences of childcare.

As a part of this we’re running this survey, which is open to all parents in the UK with at least one child aged 18 or under.

This survey is being hosted by Mumsnet. You can find information about how your data will be used here.

Thanks, and good luck with the prize draw!

Hi all,
I have done a few posts here and there, I have just found out that I am pregnant again after a miscarriage in December, but the other day I had small amounts of spotting that would come and go when wiping throughout the day.
It is small amounts, but ranges from colour from light pink to brown and one small bit of dark red.
I’m just wondering if it’s normal as I’m so scared of it happening again, I have a scan on 24th which I should be 7weeks. Xx

I also found the questions a bit inflexible.

I left a comment, but what about if your situation has changed? I used childcare vouchers when I was employed and DC were very little, then ex registered for tax-free childcare while we were still together and now I'm in a very difficult situation.

It's one tax-free childcare account per child (not per parent) so separated parents either have to work together to benefit from it or one loses out. Ex already registered so we continued to communicate and share the cost since separating, but now things have changed again.

I've recently had to go from self-employed to full-time employee and the only way I can do the hours is to get an au pair, which I can't afford. You can't get any support for au pair childcare because it's not Ofsted registered. I need the childcare to keep the job, but will end up in debt unless my parents help me out. I'm hoping to somehow scrape through until younger DC is in secondary and I can get a lodger for additional income. But it's very scary (financially) and I'm really frustrated that I could get help through UC if I keep DC in Ofsted registered childcare, but I can't possibly get from the office at 5.30 pm to collect by 6 pm. So it's not a realistic option.

I'm now desperately hoping that employer will let me work from home a few days when youngest is Y6 and could perhaps be dropped home or catch a bus and then at least I'd be in the house.

It all feels a bit Catch-22... Need job therefore need childcare, can't afford childcare but can't afford to be out of work. It was fine when we were a two-parent household but really hard now.

I am truly in awe of single parents on lower incomes than me.

Completed. Very interesting survey Qs, if hard to answer.

I might kill him.
I just might actually fucking murder him.
It’s a shame as I generally don’t mind him
And he’s quite nice when he’s awake . But fucking hell it’s like a whole bloody petting zoo and I’m pretty sure he’s keeping the gerbils up now . I want to cry. I’m wondering what drugs I can take now and expect him to be up tomorrow…. I’m tempted by the Benadryl…

Chelkar93 · 25/08/2021 13:02

Hi everyone! Just a question hoping someone can help me out with this lol I had my implanon implant removed last Wednesday and was told fertility basically returns straight away. We decided to buy ovulation tests and got a positive result 2 days later and have got positive results every morning since. However today I started some spotting as if I have a period starting. Is it possible to be ovulating on your period?? Any answers appreciated 🙂
