We are working with an education provider who is looking into creating resources to help you homeschool your children.

We are looking for 10 pairs of parents and their children aged 11-16 who would join us for a 1 hour informal research conversation on homeschooling with our trusted research consultant in the Mumsnet offices in Kentish Town, London. We have added several new dates. These conversations will be taking place on the 21st, 22nd, 23rd and 24th of January.

In order to participate, the child you are bringing to the research must be homeschooled and aged 11 to 16. This research is organised in line with the highest standard of MRS conduct.

All interviewed pairs will receive £60 incentive for their combined participation which you will receive on the day, and your travel expenses will be covered up to a reasonable amount (please keep proof of the cost of your travel for reimbursement purposes).

I last did market research in London 16 years ago and got £100 for an hour then.

£60 is pretty bloody mean MN.

£30 an hour per person - it’s two people. Agree not v much for a commercial thing. Travel will be another chunk of time/money unless they’re on your doorstep.

I meant pairs as in kid and parent. Don’t think it needs to parents.

Hi everyone hope your well. I think I’m having a thick moment and need help to get me to understand/realise I actually am. So I had unprotected sex from 28-3 October and also had 2 periods. I had negative pregnancy tests before my November period.My last period was on the 5th November to the 9th November, I then had unprotected sex on the 13th and positive tests from 11dpo. Can this be right. Clear blue says 1-2 weeks.

I want to forward this to a friend that fits the description - but just wanted to clarify are there travel expenses on top of the £60 or is that it? We are only an hour from London but the train fare is still ££ so I’m embarrassed to forward it on if it’s £60 all in!

Well this sounds very exclusionary - they only want to market their products to homeschooled children in two parent families?

I think it's a parent-child pair not a pair of parents.

I home ed a sixteen year old but £60 isn't worth it tbh. We could be off doing something much more fun or worthwhile in that time!

Although in a way, that's even more worrying if it was drafted by the education provider in question!

What about families that are unable to travel. There are a significant number of families that home school SEN children and would not be able to attend in person due to mobility or mental health barriers. Can these families attend by Skype or phone?

I'm out of London so are we excluded ?

Mumsnet it's more than a little irritating that you insist on the term home schooling when surely you know full well that home education is the term preferred by the people doing it. Do our views and preferences not matter?
