We at Mumsnet want to find out a bit more about whether information about maternity, paternity, parental leave and adoption policies is easy to find when people are seeking work or looking to switch jobs.

This survey is open to all who have at least one child under the age of 18, or those who are actively considering starting a family.

We'd really love to hear thoughts from fathers as well as mothers, so if you’re not a dad but you have one to hand and he fits the criteria, we’d be extremely grateful if you could get him to fill it in too - perhaps by sending him the survey link.

Everyone who completes this survey will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £100 voucher of their choice (from a list).

Click here to complete the survey.

Thanks and good luck

Done, but pretty pointless as XDH was self employed so no paternity/shared parental leave etc.

Rogue1234 · 18/02/2019 11:43

@MNHQ - could you perhaps consider making your surveys more inclusive for LGBT families?

We are a 2 mum family (and I know of a lot of other MN'ers that are too!), and my DS's other mother took paternity leave when he was born. Your questions are equally applicable if the other parent is a mother or father.

Done, but as HeyHa said, pretty pointless for public sector workers - the answer for virtually every question was 'N/A'

I've also replied. However what I don't want is that maternity leave becomes interchangable with paternity leave. Maternity leave should not be comprimised for paternity leave. It should be in addition.
I mentioned in my response that I did shared leave with me taking 6 months and my now ex husband taking 3 months. However when it came time for me to return I was still unhealed physically from the birth. I ended up needing to take 5 months sick leave. I then faced disciplinary for sickness. The person who gives birth should not have to compromise their leave for the other parent. The other parent should be entitled to their own leave on top.

Sorry for the bad spelling! Small phone screen + no glasses on. D'oh!

Is there any update on who wins these vouchers? There's lots of surveys that have closed but no reply on who won
