One issue that comes up over and again on Mumsnet is the political culture of Westminster: debate has raged over everything from the number of women in the cabinet to the playground atmosphere of Prime Minister’s Questions (PMQs). So we thought it’d be interesting to delve a bit deeper into Mumsnetters’ views on these topics.

This survey is open to all Mumsnet users. Whether you follow all the action at Westminster or struggle to name a cabinet minister - please complete this short survey! It's important we get the views of all MNers.

As a thank you, all respondents (who leave their details at the end) will be entered into a prize draw in which one MNer will win a £50 voucher for the store of their choice.

Here's the link again: www.surveymonkey.com/s/NSTNM3V

Thanks and good luck

I hate the shouting. I like to hear what people have to say - which is surely the point?

I agree with OTheHugeManatee. Such leading questions and an obvious agenda make the survey pretty much worthless.

One question asks if you would consider standing as an MP or a local councillor. These are two very different animals - a local councillor is for someone who wants to get involved at a grass routes level in her local area and generally has no ambition to move higher up the levels of government. They often aren't in the least political, just concerned about local issues in their community. Many people would consider doing this, but in a million years have any ambitions to stand for parliament.

Local government also differs in that there tends to be a fairly even mix of the sexes.

I answered Q10 with d/k because of the ambiguity

Done. I'd have liked an option to explain certain answers though.

PMQs is a non event outside of those interested in politics. It doesn't mean it should be scrapped but they should make it more meaningful. As someone who follows it, I just find it makes me more Hmm about politicians. What's the point of having MPs standing up to ask arse-licking questions? Waste of time.

Thanks to everyone who completed the survey: DrSooz wins the £50 voucher. Well done.

Hello

Just to let you know, we've collated the responses to this now, and on Tuesday, June 24 we're going to be having a webchat to discuss the results with prominent politicians from the three major parties. Please tune in!
