We have been asked by Resolution Foundation (an independent research organisation that works to improve the lives of people on low or middle incomes) to find UK based MNers with at least one child aged under 10 to complete a survey.

They say "one area we look at is childcare, and particularly the impact the childcare considerations have on the work decisions of parents. In this survey, we would like to get the views of parents of under-10s. We are interested in how childcare considerations, including the support that is available from the government, affect parents’ decisions about if or how much to work."

The survey should take 5 to 10 minutes to complete - add your details at the end to be entered into a prize draw to win £150 worth of Amazon vouchers.

All responses are confidential and details will not be used for any other purpose.

thanks, MNHQ

Done. But surprised not to see an option for "I don't want to work any more as I already work full time". Our childcare costs are double what the government said is average.

Hmm. I did not tick the box to say that I use my partner as childcare, even though he regularly picks dd up from school. He is not providing childcare, he is her dad!!

I also found it strange that there was no option to say that I already work full time, and I didn't understand why there were no questions about whether my DH would like to work more hours.

Very poorly compiled questions in my view!

Done. It made me remember how lucky we were/are to have such lovely people looking after our kids, especially when they were little.

Why are people posting "done" ? Do you want a round of applause?

SoupDragon · 15/11/2013 07:26

It bumps the thread to the top.

That is one badly written survey!

Suddengeekgirl · 15/11/2013 15:04

Done.

Not impressed with reception being classed as child care rather than education for your dc! Shock Hmm
As an ex teacher I get really annoyed with people treating us like child care!

MaureenFry · 15/11/2013 16:21

It doesn't need bumping to the top - it's on a sticky.

SoupDragon · 15/11/2013 16:25

Not everyone uses stickies. I don't and thus would not have seen it had it not been bumped.
Fairly simple.

DumDum32 · 15/11/2013 16:46

done :)

MaureenFry · 16/11/2013 11:26

Why didn't I know you could get rid of the stickies??? Bloody things annoy me as I have no wish to take part in surveys or test drive tampons for MN. Off to investigate how to unstick back later for tech advice

EndoplasmicReticulum · 17/11/2013 19:33

I couldn't answer the "why don't you want to work any more" question, they were assuming I think that more work = more money. Not in my case (teacher).

Hi - samels001 has been selected as the winner of the vouchers! Well done.
