Barclays are keen to hear from Mumsnetters who own their own business or are thinking about starting one - they want to know where you went/would go for financial help amongst other things.

The survey should take no longer than 10 mins to complete and is open to all UK Mumsnetters who own their own business or are thinking about starting one.

Please click here to take part

Everyone who takes part and adds their details at the end will also be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £250 John Lewis voucher. The details you enter for the prize draw will be kept confidential by MNHQ and will not be passed on to Barclays.

Barclays will be using the survey data anonymously for research purposes only.

Thanks and good luck with the prize draw

Well, given the considerable numbers of hours I spend awake at night thinking about cake, I think lovely new JL bed linen will definitely give my business a boost Wink

nickelbabe · 09/02/2013 10:13

LittleMilla - join the club :(

InMySpareTime · 09/02/2013 11:52

Nickel, if you were in my neck of the woods I'd have come and done storytelling in your book shop. Unfortunately I'm in Manchester, and AFAIK you're daaaan Saaaaf somewhere.

nickelbabe · 09/02/2013 11:59

aw, thank you :)
I love a good storyteller.

i would love to move back to Manchester, but DH wouldn't like it (he's never left this town!)

FireFoot · 09/02/2013 17:49

There should be more storytellers in book shops. It is a great way to get the kids into reading and encouraging their imagination.

InMySpareTime · 10/02/2013 07:30

I need to get more bookshop gigs, I've been focusing on schools, parties and cafes so far, need to broaden my scope (every day, a new avenue to pursue, still only one pair of hands). Back to the grindstone...

newgirl · 10/02/2013 13:49

If they are interested - I had a meeting with Barclays when we started our business and they were sooo expensive - charging for every transaction. It was a complete no-no for us as a start-up.

MrsHoarder · 10/02/2013 15:22

DOne

LettuceBee · 10/02/2013 19:09

Barclays were very friendly and supportive when we started our business. Right up until they demanded a £17k bond for online payment processing! Beware.
