We've been asked by Central YMCA to find out how you feel about postnatal exercise. If you've had a baby in the last 3 years we'd very much like you to complete this survey about this topic - regardless of what level of exercise you did Grin.

The survey is open to all UK MNers who've had a baby in the past 3 years.

~ If it was your first baby you should be at least 3 months post-partum to take part.

~ If you have had more than one child in the past 3 years, please answer about the most recent one (unless it was very recent - you should ideally be 3 months post-partum).

Everyone who takes part and adds their details at the end will be entered into a prize draw to win £200 of John Lewis vouchers.

Thanks and good luck with the prize draw

I couldn't exercise for six months post partum as I had an incisional hernia from the last CS and then had to have surgery to correct that. Hmm

But for previous one could. not. be. arsed. really Blush

I suspect most first time mums have enough trouble getting themselves dressed let alone bloody leaping about trying to reduce the size of their arses, frankly. Grin Or was that just me? Grin

I'm not currently in the Uk but I was in the Uk when I had ds.... am I still able to enter or not?

kiwijesta · 25/09/2011 13:31

Was there a space to say when you started exercising again? I was walking everywhere from 3 months I'd say but wasn't up to proper exercise eg DVD until DD was 6/7 months old, that might have been a good question.

windatmytail · 25/09/2011 19:11

all of my exercise involved pushing the buggy with the dog in tow but I did do a hell of a lot of that as I was slowly going round the twist indoors :)

HavePatience · 25/09/2011 19:29

I did the survey a few days ago. I'm never sure if I'm meant to add to the thread or not...
I would have loved a group class in my area where the class involved exercising with my baby. To Both meet people and learn ways of keeping fit even with a baby who needed to be near me constantly.

HavePatience · 25/09/2011 19:31

Oh Blush just read the thread. I had no idea "buggy fit" existed. Blush

I was going to go to a class called "pushy mums", but it was a bus, metro and another bus away, and that just seemed a bit much on top of the class, and the fact that I would have had to do it pushing a double buggy as DD1 was still too young, and I had a limp until about 18 months after having DD2 anyway.

Also, I'm a lazy arse.

HavePatience · 26/09/2011 20:37

Grin "pushy mums"!

cosmicdiva · 26/09/2011 20:52

Done but it wasn't clear what was meant by exercise. I haven't done any sports or gym or anything, but with a 3yr old and a baby to take care of, housework, gardening etc, I wasn't exactly sitting on my backside watching TV all day!

bluecake · 27/09/2011 17:35

Done - but I was a bit confused about the 'first few months' thing - I thought that because of the mention of 3 months that it meant that so I probably underestimated what I did because I didn't start until 8 weeks and so was only just getting going by 3 months.

openerofjars · 28/09/2011 22:48

Done the other day but forgot to post here. Does it matter? Oh well.
