AEG and Finish have asked us to find out how Mumsnetters feel about washing up by hand vs. using a dishwasher.

Please take a few minutes to complete this short survey. It is open to all UK Mumsnetters and everyone who takes part and enters their details at the end will be entered into a prize draw to win £250 of vouchers for John Lewis.

Was disappointed that there was no option for not really being a fan of washing up by hand, but it gives me a good excuse to hide from the kids (and DH) when they're driving me round the bend.

I feel the same about putting away clothes and cleaning the bedrooms.

that is quite a poor survey imo
i can't see they will get anything very interesting out of it
yes i have a dishwasher
yes i also wash by hand (but what they don't ask is what and why - pots, pans, wine glasses, dishes that don't fit well etc...)
i buy own label, or Finish on promo, but they didn't get that info either
what would i like in a dishwasher? a more flexible layout.

why i feel the need to write all this i don't know, just annoyed me at the lack of insightfulness of the questions!

oh yes and most hated household job "tidying up everyone else's crap" where was that option. and that is because I shouldn't have to do it, they should. the rest i don't mind (though i do have a cleaner...)

No option for me to write why I would rather pay £1.69 for Sainsbury's Basics dishwasher tablets than pay gazillions for Finish branded ones.

Have been using the SB ones for a couple of years now and they are every bit as good. Why should I pay almost £10 a month more for branded ones?

i have a dishwasher which i tend to just put cups, plates and crockery in. plastic bowls, oven trays and big items tend to get washed in the sink. i love my dishwasher but it is starting to show signs of wear and tear and i could do with a new one
