Thank you for trying the Nitty Gritty Comb.

This is a feedback thread/ survey for those who have received a Nitty Gritty Comb as part of the trial on Mumsnet - BUT others who have used the Comb are more than welcome to complete the survey and add their own comments on it.

Everyone who was part of this trial and who completes the feedback survey will be entered into a prize draw where one winner will receive a £100 Amazon voucher, a full set of Nitty Gritty products (worth £30) PLUS a half price discount voucher for the Nitty Gritty Comb for every family in their school!

In addition MNers who are not part of this test but who have used a Nitty Gritty comb within the last year and would like to add feedback on it are welcome to complete the feedback survey - they will be entered into a prize draw to win a full set of Nitty Gritty products (worth £30) PLUS a half price discount voucher for the Nitty Gritty Comb for every family in their school!

Please complete the survey once you have used the comb. Please answer questions on behalf of all members of your family who had to use the comb.

Thanks and good luck

Thanks for explaining the rusty colour thing. It doesn't affect how well it works, but it just suprised me, given that it seemed so well made.

Thankyou for coming back and addressing the issue.

i always comb through using a normal brush and then a comb before going near our hair with a fine comb, but still found the hair would catch at the edge of the NG comb in a sort of bunch, then tear off.

I am very happy with my flea comb from the pet shop, though, and we rarely have a nit problem, which is lucky.

I havent had a free comb, but have purchased one.
I use it periodically to check ds's hair.
Used it tonight and it was bringing out LOADS of yellow dust. I'm guessing pollen and other tree based detritus. Quite an impressive haul of dust. (but luckily no creepies).

To AtlantisLegoDuplicates and others who've had an issue with the comb catching & pulling hair - please email me as Nitty Gritty may be able to help you directly..... ann @ mumsnet. com

Ok I know this was a freebie and I was very grateful but we had a problem last night.

I washed ,conditioned and brushed through dd's hair so it was really smooth and started to bush through with the NG she gave a yelp and one of the teeth had bent right back and is now misshapen it also cut her scalp a little bit nothing major but still.

NittyGrittyMums · 01/06/2010 21:40

Hi comewhinewithme,
I am very sorry to hear you had a problem with the comb; certainly a tooth should not have bent back.
If you email me direct we'll send you a brand new Nitty Gritty Comb, and if possible get the faulty one back from you so we can take a look and send it back to the factory.
We do get a tiny proportion of 'rogue' combs with wobbly teeth, but each comb is individually coded with the time, date, machine it was made on, and even the person who was operating the machine at the time, so we can trace it back and check whether there is any fault with that particular machine.
