We are no longer accepting new sign-ups

Aldi has asked us to help them find 10 children to become their official toy testers and receive a year’s worth of toys to review and keep.

Here’s what Aldi has to say: “Aldi is on the hunt for ten children to become its official toy testers – in what may be the ultimate dream role this Christmas. 10 lucky children will be chosen as testers and in return will receive a year’s supply of toys to review and keep! The toys to be reviewed include a selection of products available on Aldi’s Online Toy Store, such as ride-on cars, science kits and a box of magic tricks. Applicants must have a love of play, know the latest toy trends and be comfortable presenting their views on camera.”

To apply, share a short video of your child reviewing their favourite toy to be in the chance of winning a year’s supply of toys. To join Aldi’s panel of official toy testers, apply via this link by the 23rd December and share your video via a link or by emailing it across to [email protected]. Children must be under 13 years old to be eligible.

Thanks,

MNHQ

Done! My 7 year old is enormously greedy, hopefully winning would sate her.

BernardsarenotalwaysSaints · 15/12/2019 22:05

JustineBMumsnet I think it might be worth putting this (from the t’s & c’s) in the op as well. I though I might have a go with my 4yo, just for fun then read this part & realised I wouldn’t go near it with a barge pole. As KingBobra put it Aldi are looking for pretty kids who play well to camera that are willing to work for less than Equity rates

The social media handle of each winner will be announced on appropriate social media channels in accordance with the “Publicity and Privacy” section of the Terms

@BernardsarenotalwaysSaints that's awful! Thank you for posting.

NerrSnerr · 16/12/2019 19:44

What did PP think Aldi would do with the toy testing videos? Just watch them themselves? Of course it's to share on SM for advertising!

BernardsarenotalwaysSaints · 16/12/2019 21:24

Yes Nerr I realised that the videos of the child would be shared & used for marketing etc. That doesn’t however always mean that your sm account will be. It’s fine if your an influencer /want to be one but I wouldn’t want my person fb/insta page shared for all to see, not that they’d see much as they’re as tight as possible...and I wouldn’t set up another just for the sake of possibly being selected

blubelle7 · 17/12/2019 11:04

Would love to enter but my 1 year old can only say mama and dada so no review possible which I guess excludes us. He is very bright though and loves toys. Watching younger children play might actually give genuine feedback as to whether they are enjoyable or not or appropriate for their target market. I find this request odd as most of Aldi's toys are geared towards babies and pre-schoolers. I doubt most 8 year olds plus would be genuinely interested in those toys or their actual target market.

Applied through the form and fingers crossed 😍

LeleWilliams789 · 19/12/2019 19:14

I’ve got a v boisterous 17 month old who loves to play, only just learning to express himself in other ways though so not sure I could video him as others have said reviewing a toy! Smiling yes, being happy or throwing it! Throwing it could be for joy though so you can interpret his review how you want!!

TheGirlWhoLived · 07/01/2020 20:02

Assume the Aldi testers have been selected!? Disappointed not to have been chosen for this one, sounded fab :)

olbndansmummy · 16/01/2020 20:18

Gutted not to have been selected. Well done to the lucky few
