  • Would you recommend the Lunette cup to others?

All testers who give the required feedback will be entered into a prize draw where one lucky MNer will win a £300 voucher for a store of their choice (for a list).

Hi
Just wanted to say thank you for reviews, you have persuaded me to try menstrual cups! These are currently on offer on amazon too :-)

I hope it's OK if I ask a question.

I had a mooncup for a long time, but ended up giving up on it, because it always, always leaked on day 1 (but never on any other days).

I'm now using a Hello cup, but it leaks on day 1 and day 2?!

I twist and turn it to get it to fully pop open, and it feels like the suction is there. When I go to remove it, it's suctioned in like a mofo - I really have to give it an almighty pull to release the suction. But there might as well not even be anything up there, for all the leaking. Sad

I have to wear pads on days 1 and 2 because I'll ruin my clothes and embarrass myself, quite frankly, otherwise. So it's definitely not eco friendly.

What am I doing wrong? I've heard that it needs to be covering the cervix. Well, I'm pretty sure it is. I mean, there's nothing else up there, except my cervix, so it must be covering it. Confused I've tried the small and the large sizes - apparently leaks can be caused by too big cups, because they don't fully pop open.

I just find it so frustrating - is it me? Is it the cup? What?

@MerchantOfVenom maybe try out some of the different folds that Lunette suggest on their website? Also, you say you are tugging, again on lunettes website they explain that you must not do that but instead break the seal at the base of the cup (as explained in their site under instructions), so maybe you don't realise the cup is actually over flowing in the first couple of days and you need to empty it more regularly? It sounds like the way you are removing it probably ends up in a great big painful mess.

BeeMyBaby · 11/12/2019 04:11

Oh and make sure you are also inserting it at the right angle. Lunette is very similar to other products but I found their user instructions were so much better and clearer than other brands so I really would take a look there to correct what you might be doing wrong and see if that solves your issue.

I was interested enough in this product to go and look at the Lunette website. Unfortunately, there is an entire page dedicated to discussing “cis-women” (an offensive term) and multiple “genders”, and lecturing us all on “how feminine-only language hurts” and how they would like to police our language for us.

I will therefore not be buying this product.

Hi all. As outlined in the opening post:
"This is the feedback thread for the 50 Mumsnet users who have been testing the Lunette menstrual cup over the last 3 months."
We'll leave the first post that makes the point - but will delete any further ones that make the same point repeatedly.

AudacityOfHope · 16/12/2019 14:58

Can I ask a question @MichaelMumsnet ?

Do you still share the deleted posts with the company?

Michael I should also like to know if the company are given the REAL feedback now that women have found out how little they value women. Can you please answer Audacity's question?

MichaelMumsnet · 17/12/2019 12:53

Of course. We'll be passing on concerns to Lunette. We're just keen for this thread to be for the feedback from the product testers. Further comments can be added to this discussion in FWR.
