Gousto has asked us to find 100 Mumsnetters to test one of their recipe boxes. Testers will be sent a family box of four meals (for four people) to try out with their family and will then be asked to leave feedback on a thread on Mumsnet. Two of the four meals selected will be recipes from a new family-friendly range launched in partnership with Annabel Karmel.

Here’s what Timo Boldt, CEO and Founder of Gousto says: “For people who want to cook and enjoy good food together but don’t always have the time, ingredients or know-how to do it well, Gousto delivers simple ways to (re) discover the joys of cooking, so you can choose what you want, cook it with confidence and enjoy sharing it with others.

Taking the hassle out of planning, shopping and cooking, Gousto delivers up to 4 meals for the week with the ingredients and recipe ready to make, so there’s no more ‘what’s for dinner’ panic.

This month, we’ve launched a 3-month partnership with family cooking expert, Annabel Karmel to introduce 20 additional family-friendly recipes to our menu. Supporting busy families with tried-and-tested, nutritionally balanced meals, proven to suit fussy eaters, including Heavenly Hidden Veg Bolognese and Mouthwatering Veggie Mac & Cheese – the new recipes will allow you to enjoy cooking dishes which suit everyone around the dinner table.

Each recipe uses Gousto’s fresh, quality ingredients – including 100% British meat, sustainable fish and free-range eggs from trusted suppliers – allowing you to know what’s in every meal and feel confident you’re feeding your family well.”

If selected, you’ll be given a unique discount code to place an order for a box (free of charge). Gousto is a subscription service, so testers will be required to create an account. However, Gousto’s customer care team will prevent the subscription from continuing automatically. You’ll then need to test the recipe box as a part of your daily routine and give your feedback on a thread on Mumsnet.

Testing will be for orders placed on the Gousto website on 10th October or 23rd October, with deliveries taking place between the 14th or 27th October. Please only sign up if you’re available to test at this time.

Please click here to apply.

All selected testers who give the required feedback will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 voucher.

Thanks and good luck!

We are very happy Gousto customers.

Meals are varied and tasty and never take longer than 45 minutes to cook. DH (who never attempted anything more difficult than a pot noodle) loves that all ingredients are correct measures. Four nights each week we don't have to worry what to have for dinner. Good luck everyone

Toying with ordering these after new baby arrives in December so this would be a fab opportunity to try them out beforehand 😊

luanda111 · 28/09/2017 17:56

This sounds exciting! Love to be creative in kitchen and try new recipes.

WelshMumof1 · 28/09/2017 18:07

I've applied. Even though my little one is under 1 we are doing baby led weaning so he gets a taste of most things really and can give almost anything a go. I've often looked at these sorts of boxes and wondered if they were good value for money, as I do love the idea of trying new things and having different recipe ideas - plus the time it saves.

WhosTakingDeHorseToFrance · 28/09/2017 18:33

Sounds fantastic and any inspiration would be most welcome. I love cooking but am so bored of catering to two fusspots!

1969angep · 28/09/2017 18:43

Fingers crossed!

pauline046 · 28/09/2017 19:09

dannydog1 · 28/09/2017 19:54

Sounds brilliant and just what I need to try something different but in an easy way.

HollyBollyBooBoo · 29/09/2017 16:36

Please can you tell Gousto to stop doing doorstep selling especially at 8.30pm when DDs in bed. Thanks.

HappydaysArehere · 29/09/2017 16:59

Holly, agree with you. Have had them around here. Really annoys me.

HopefulHamster · 29/09/2017 17:27

done!

nerysw · 29/09/2017 19:29

I've applied, interested to find out if it would work for us (i.e. everyone would eat it). Interestingly a Gousto man in a snazzy apron came to our door last week (no leaflets, big marketing fail) but DH was expecting a friend so opened the door with a flourish and a comedy loud hello so was then too embarrassed (as was Gousto man) to ask useful questions.

bergh · 30/09/2017 08:41

Sounds (and hope it tastes!) fantastic and will revive my Autumn repertoire and invigorate the months ahead!

MagicMaxim · 30/09/2017 11:50

Hey a Dad on a site for Mums? :-)

Dads can cook too and this one cooks better than Mum according to the kids!

Just waiting for my first cooker for a long time (5-6 years now) to arrive and it would be great to take part in this, I have always loved to cook and my meals have always been received well.

I have looked at Gousto before but have never taken the plunge as I didn't have a fridge or cooker at the time.

Maybe this could start a trend on here, a mumsanddadsnet section?

Cheers

Max

gd2011 · 30/09/2017 21:52

I hope I get chosen.

HelpfulHermione · 01/10/2017 00:50

We use Gousto love it. Would highly recommend.

I'm quite a fussy eater so DH chooses and cooks 3 gousto meals a week for just us two. The other 4 nights are family meals planned and cooked by me. It's lovely to share the cooking burden, make sure we sit down together and eat delicious, interesting meals we wouldn't normally eat.

5 stars definitely.

BertrandRussell · 01/10/2017 13:15

I'd love to try! I'm a bit sceptical about these box schemes because it just seems to be paying someone else to weigh things out Grin but I would live to be proved wrong!

Candyperfumegirl · 01/10/2017 17:29

Thanks for adding the dietary question, I've applied and hoping I get picked I've been a member of Hello fresh on and off for years so would love to see how Gousto compares

impishgal77 · 01/10/2017 17:55

Sick of asking my teenagers what they want to eat and/or hearing "there's nothing in to eat". Hoping this will refresh an excitement in cooking for the family.

HelpfulHermione · 01/10/2017 20:49

Candy I think Gousto's meals offer recipes that are typically more flavoursome / interesting / spicy than Hello Fresh. There's lots of asian inspired meals with Gousto. Lots of chipotle paste, nigella seeds, chillies and coriander. Maybe that's just the meals that DH chooses! But whenever I've looked at Hello Fresh it looks a bit dull - even to me and my simple tastes!

Also, there is a good weekly choice with Gousto. Not sure if it's still the case but Hello Fresh used to be just get what you're given.

We're getting a delivery tomorrow - I'll post a photo of what comes in the box.

HelpfulHermione · 01/10/2017 20:50

I have to say though, the one Annabel Karmel meal (a curry I think it was) we had from Gousto was disgusting. We've only had one and we're not catering for children so possibly an unfair judgement.
