Did you use School Checker on your computer or on a mobile device or tablet?
Mobile (phone)
How old are your children if you have any?
1 and 3
How important are schools to you when planning to move home?
Extremely important. They are probably the most important factor to me at the moment.
Would you consider moving home to get into a good school?
Yes, I have seriously considered it and previously decided to.
From the Rightmove schools page (www.rightmove.co.uk/schools.html) was School Checker tab easy to find?
I didn't access it this way. I followed the link in the email I was sent by Mumsnet.
How easy did you find School Checker to use and understand?
Very easy, no problems at all. I would have preferred the information to be in columns though, so it was easier to scan down the list and see which schools the house was in the admission area for.
Did you find School Checker useful?
Yes. I thought it couldn't possibly tell me anything I didn't already know from reading the published admissions statistics but the way the information was presented made me realise that we had an option I hadn't previously considered.
Would you use School Checker when considering a move?
Yes definitely and to be honest I'll be using it even between moves to look at my current home and work out what my school options are. It is so much easier and clearer than trawling through admissions statistics and catchment maps. Rightly or wrongly I actually trust the information too, which I didn't think I would, but it is accurate for the area I know about.
What did you find most useful about School Checker?
Being able to see at a glance what schools my children might be able to get into.
Any improvements you’d like to see?
Just the comment above - having the information in columns would make it even easier to analyse the information. Also, I'd love a map showing the house, the schools and markings showing the admissions areas.
Would you recommend School Checker to other parents and why?
Yes I would. As above this is a really useful tool for quickly seeing what your options might be.
Any other comments?
Thanks for adding this tool, it's genuinely (and surprisingly) useful!
