We asked 250 Mners with children to try the latest range of pasta sauces from Napolina – this is the thread for their feedback.

Napolina say “we are excited to launch a new range of No Added Sugar pasta sauces to complement our existing range of over 130 products including pasta, sauces, canned tomatoes, olive oil, pulses, pizzeria and balsamic vinegar. The sauces enable tasty and convenient meals to be created, whilst reducing ‘added sugar’ intake. Flavours are centred around Italian family classic meals and have been developed to appeal to parents and children alike.

All sauces have a smooth texture and are available in seven flavour variants:

~ Bolognese pasta sauce
~ Pasta sauce for Macaroni Cheese
~ Pasta sauce for Meatballs
~ Creamy Cheese and Tomato pasta sauce
~ Red Lasagne pasta sauce
~ White Lasagne pasta sauce
~ Tomato with Hidden Veg pasta sauce

Available in a 480g/500g jar for families of four or more (RRP £1.69), the sauces are perfect for creating Italian inspired family favourites on busy weekdays or leisurely weekends alike”.

As a parent what is the biggest tea-time challenge for you?
Finding a menu that suits both a fastidious 15 year old who likes healthy food and a fussy 9yr old with a horror of vegetables.

Would you say you are more aware of the added sugar in food now than you were perhaps a year ago?
Yes, mainly because of the media coverage over recent months. I have been surprised by the amount of sugar that is supposedly healthy meals and drinks.

What is your top priority as a parent when choosing products to purchase or meals to cook for your family?
I want something that is healthy, tasty and, if I'm not making something from scratch, quick and easy.

From the ones you've tried, what is your favourite flavour in the range? Which did your children like?
The children loved the Tomato Sauce with Hidden Vegetables, even the 9yo. I usually make my own tomato sauce and yes I hide vegetables in it to outwit the 9yo, but as they liked the Napolina sauces so much I'm happy to keep a jar in the cupboard to serve up when we're in a rush. We also liked the Smooth Tomato Meatball sauce served with homemade meatballs, yum :)

Would you use the products again, why?
I would use them again as a simple solution to midweek meals when no-one has much time to spare. Will also come in handy when my twin student daughters are home and wanting a quick meal which is NEVER when anyone else is wanting a meal :/ And the best thing is they, and the 15yo, can use them to cook themselves Hurrah

Would you recommend the sauces to a friend or family member?
Yes, I would :)

As a parent, what is the biggest tea-time challenge for you?
Getting tea on the table quickly, i usually use the slow cooker if i am going to be out all day, unless we are having pizza.
Would you say you are more aware of the ‘added sugar’ in food now than you were perhaps a year ago?
Yes, due to increased media coverage of it, although i do try to avoid too much 'processed' food which tends to have more sugar.
What is your top priority as a parent when choosing which products to purchase or meals to cook for your family?
How healthy the meal is.
From the ones you tried, which is your favourite flavour in the range? Which did your children like?
i made a chicken lasagne from the bolognese and white sauce, which was delicious and went down well with everyone.
The creamy tomato pasta sauce was nice with tuna and pasta and the kids enjoyed it most.

Would you use the products again? Why?
Yes for ease, handy to have something like this in the cupboard for times when short on time, knowing its not full of sugar. But agree with a comment above that I wouldn't put sugar in macaroni cheese anyway, so not sure of the appeal of that one.
If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the sauces to a friend or family member?
Yes, but probably not the macaroni cheese sauce.

Thanks for choosing me to sample these products. It enabled me to try a few different meals with the kids.

BlackCatSleeps · 02/03/2016 19:41

We had the: Pasta sauce for Macaroni Cheese, Pasta sauce for Meatballs, Red Lasagne pasta sauce and Tomato with Hidden Veg pasta sauce.

As a parent, what is the biggest tea-time challenge for you?
Making a meal that is quick (to fit around activities), healthy, vegetarian and acceptable to the kids!! Oh and with some variety day in day out.

Would you say you are more aware of the ‘added sugar’ in food now than you were perhaps a year ago?
Definitely...we need to cut down on sugar.

What is your top priority as a parent when choosing which products to purchase or meals to cook for your family?
Good quality (not too much unhealthy rubbish)

From the ones you tried, which is your favourite flavour in the range? Which did your children like?
Pasta sauce for macaroni cheese was the nicest...we all agreed. Personally I was surprised as I don't think I've ever had a jar of cheese sauce before and I imagined it would taste a bit like tinned macaroni cheese which is revolting! I did serve it with a bit of cauliflower though to add some vegetables.

Would you use the products again? Why?
I would possibly buy the cheese one again because it was very nice. I'm not sure it saved a lot of time though (compared to making a cheese sauce) especially as you were supposed to grate cheese in the top. I wouldn't buy any of the tomato based sauces again though because I did not like the added sweeteners in them.

If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the sauces to a friend or family member?
Probably not mainly because of the sweetener issue. If a sweet drink, a cordial, says it is no added sugar, I'd assume it had a sweetener in it but with a pasta sauce I would assume no added sugar meant it hadn't been sweetened (why does it need to be?)...so to find the sweetener in it seems a little misleading. Sorry!

Thank you though, we all enjoyed trying them.

vickipickernicker · 02/03/2016 20:19

As a parent, what is the biggest tea-time challenge for you?

  • trying to prepare and cook a healthy tea after work whilst entertaining my 2 children who just want to spend time with me after a day at school & nursery.

Would you say you are more aware of the ‘added sugar’ in food now than you were perhaps a year ago?

  • I was aware of the sugar content of food before so no change due to the recent hype about sugar content in food

What is your top priority as a parent when choosing which products to purchase or meals to cook for your family?

  • healthy foods that all the family will enjoy.

From the ones you tried, which is your favourite flavour in the range? Which did your children like?

  • We tried the red and white sauce for lasagne and the creamy cheese and tomato sauce, have also been sent the macaroni cheese sauce but have yet to try as not really a favourite meal, may adapt and use for another lasagne. The lasagne sauces were good and did save time using the prepared white sauce than making one.

Would you use the products again? Why?
If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the sauces to a friend or family member?

  • Possibly, however I do usually make my own tomato pasta sauces, but tend to keep a prepared jar of pasta sauce in the cupboard as a stand by.
graduatedbob · 02/03/2016 20:30

We tried Tomato and Hidden Veg, Macaroni Cheese, Creamy Cheese and Tomato and White Lasagne

As a parent, what is the biggest tea-time challenge for you? I try to make one dish for everyone as I like us all to eat the same thing, but we have quite different tastes. My son will eat anything and truly appreciate it, my daughter is more particular.

Would you say you are more aware of the ‘added sugar’ in food now than you were perhaps a year ago?
Yes. I have also noticed how lots of recipes say to add sugar to tomato based sauces-but I always ignore this.

What is your top priority as a parent when choosing which products to purchase or meals to cook for your family?

I try to cook most things from scratch. Cost is a major factor in what I buy. I try to ensure the kids have a range of food as much as possible and give them something healthy as often as I can.

From the ones you tried, which is your favourite flavour in the range? Which did your children like?

I like the Macaroni Cheese and my kids agreed. They also both loved the Tomato and Hidden Veg. I wasn't keen on the creamy cheese and tomato, but my kids liked it!

Would you use the products again? I would use the Macaroni Cheese as it would be a good reserve meal to have. I might buy the white lasagne sauce but to be honest I would probably make my own and wouldn't use the tomato based sauces as I'd prefer to make my own.

If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the sauces to a friend or family member?

Yes-my mum is much more of a fan of shop bought sauces and she would love these.

Muchtoomuchtodo · 02/03/2016 20:42

I used the white lasagne sauce today. We didn't get a red lasagne sauce so I made that part from scratch like usual.

I liked the flavour of the sauce, though I would have preferred it to be quite a lot thicker. I'm glad that there is no sugar or artificial sweetener in this sauce.

Ds2 quite happily ate his, ds1 apparently has never liked lasagne and therefore decided to cause his equivalent of world war 3 over the dinner table as a result. I can confidently say that this wasn't his favourite one of the sauces Sad

Deedee75 · 02/03/2016 20:43

As a parent, what is the biggest tea-time challenge for you? Making meals that both my boys (6yo who is fussy about some meats and vegetables, 18mo will fortunately eat most things) will eat, my husband likes, and is also suitable and not too high in syns for me following slimming world. Also, some evenings we can be rushing round to different after school clubs so needs foods that can be quick and simple to prepare and cook, or can be left to cook while we're out.

Would you say you are more aware of the ‘added sugar’ in food now than you were perhaps a year ago? Not particularly, I've always tried to make sure foods aren't too high in sugar, and usually cook sauces from scratch rather than buying jars of sauces since they can be high syns on slimming world.

What is your top priority as a parent when choosing which products to purchase or meals to cook for your family? Healthy foods that we'll all enjoy.

From the ones you tried, which is your favourite flavour in the range? Which did your children like? Mine and my 6yos favourite was the macaroni cheese (I used 400g of pasta after reading on here that the full 500g bag seemed too much, and think that was about perfect), and my husband and 18mo liked the Lasagne best (based of my 18mo reaction that is, see photo!)

Would you use the products again? Why? Maybe the macaroni cheese sauce, but not the others as I wasn't keen on the flavours of them - I think it was the fennel and sweetener in the tomato ones, and the white sauce just had a strange taste to it. Much prefer my home made tomato sauces from passata, tinned tomatoes and various herbs and spices.

If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the sauces to a friend or family member? No, since I wasn't massively keen on them.

Napolina pasta sauce feedback thread; find out what MNers think about the latest range - NOW CLOSED
noideawhat · 02/03/2016 20:58

As a parent, what is the biggest tea-time challenge for you?

Finding something that everyone will eat! I'm vegetarian but DH & DC eat meat. The kids eat earlier & we tend to eat together once they're in bed. Also, being able to prepare something with a 16 month old velcro baby clinging to me every night...

Would you say you are more aware of the ‘added sugar’ in food now than you were perhaps a year ago?

Definitely. I'm still shocked sometimes at the ridiculous places sugar appears & I'm sure it's not necessary. Like other testers though I'm not impressed with Napolina's use of sweetener in the ingredients.

What is your top priority as a parent when choosing which products to purchase or meals to cook for your family?

Healthiness e.g. how many vegetables I'm able to get into them but also time/ease to prepare.

From the ones you tried, which is your favourite flavour in the range? Which did your children like?

We received the bolognese sauce, macaroni cheese, creamy cheese & tomato & the white lasagne sauce.

My older DS liked the macaroni cheese. I wasn't keen on the vague cooking instructions & didn't trust them so made my own version as though I was making it from scratch. Neither DH or myself were keen & the younger two wouldn't even try it (that happens at a lot of meal times though!)

I liked the bolognese one as a quick cheat. My home made ones never taste that bolognese-y so it was nice to have a "proper" one for once!

Would you use the products again? Why?
If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the sauces to a friend or family member?

I'd probably use the lasagne white sauce again as it's much easier than making my own. I'm tempted to try the meatballs sauce & it's handy having the odd jar in the cupboard. Apart from the use of sweeteners, it was reassuring that I recognised the ingredients listed! It helped me feel that I wasn't giving my family over processed junk! I'd definitely tell others that I was impressed.

5madthings · 02/03/2016 21:11

As a parent, what is the biggest tea-time challenge for you?

I would say the biggest challenge can be coordinating cooking a meal on a time scale to fit in with five kids and a husband that does shift work.

Would you say you are more aware of the ‘added sugar’ in food now than you were perhaps a year ago?

Not more aware no, it's something I have always been aware of, if anything as my family has grown I have relaxed my attitude a bit. Pub didn't have a biscuit until he was over three yet baby no 5 ate the odd rich tea as weaning food. Dont get me wrong I am still careful with their diet but am aware of striking a balance. They eat well at home and the odd treat is fine. And I would rather regular sugar than artificial sweetners.

What is your top priority as a parent when choosing which products to purchase or meals to cook for your family?

Probably ease of preparation though we do make a lot of our own sauces, using your chopped tomatoes often actually! I am not adverse to a jar for those nights we are in a hurry or for when my elder kids ages 16, 13 or 11 are cooking as it's easy for them to do a pasta based meal with a jar.

Budget is also fairly important.

From the ones you tried, which is your favourite flavour in the range? Which did your children like?

We have so far tried the hidden veg, the white lasagne sauce and the creamy cheese and tomato sauce. The kids loved the hidden veg one, Tbf my kids aren't picky so I have never resorted to hiding veg but if you have a fussy child then this could be good and we all liked it. Some of the kids had seconds and there wrre no left overs.

Would you use the products again? Why?
If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the sauces to a friend or family member?

Yes I would use the sauces again they are the type of thing that are handy to have in the cupboard fir an easy dinner basically and they were a good size for feeding just the kids.

I am not sure I would recommend them over and above another brand, tbh with jars like this I tend to buy what is on offer bur as my kids liked the hidden veg one I would look for thst in the supermarket.

I probably wouldn't buy the white lasagne sauce as we tend to make our own and the jar wasn't quite big enough for our family, but I do have five kid's, two of whom are teen boys. So for most families it would be fine.

I think the tomato based ones I will buy again, though we do tend to make our own sauces most of the time. I probably won't buy the white sauces as it's so easy to make my own it's not really a huge time saver.

We did enjoy testing them though and as I say we do buy other products esp tinned tomatoes and pasta from your range.

dmeriam · 02/03/2016 21:16

As a parent, what is the biggest tea-time challenge for you?

I have 3 DCs and both me and DH work full time, so getting dinner ready at all is a major challenge, as I am not usually keen on using ready-made food. Add to that the fact that my 2 older DS's are very picky and my youngest DD is a toddler means that satisfying everyone's tastes without cooking 3 or more different meals is a major challenge!

Would you say you are more aware of the ‘added sugar’ in food now than you were perhaps a year ago?

Yes definitely - especially as I have a toddler who doesn't eat sugar, and 2 boys who adore anything with sugar in it, but have massive behaviour bursts after eating it.

What is your top priority as a parent when choosing which products to purchase or meals to cook for your family?

My top priority is getting good quality and healthy food that they will actually eat rather than push around their plates.

From the ones you tried, which is your favourite flavour in the range?

My favourite was the Creamy Cheese and Tomato Pasta Sauce - I loved it.

The White Lasagne Pasta Sauce was a close second, as it tasted just like my home-made bechamel but was incredibly easy and didn't involve holding a squirming baby whilst stirring and stirring!

Which did your children like?

They loved the Creamy Cheese and Tomato Pasta Sauce, rating it 10/10, and they told me it tasted just like my pasta sauce (fried onion, carrot, tinned tomato all pureed and then I add a bit of cream). Obviously a bit disappointing to know that I can be so easily replaced, but also fab to cut out that extra 30-40 minutes of prep time, which is particularly hard to juggle with a tired baby!

Would you use the products again? Why?

Yes, definitely. I loved having time to spend with the kids instead of cooking every single night, though I do love cooking. It was nice to have a couple of days each week with almost effortless meal prep. The Macaroni Cheese Sauce was also great - I'd definitely get that too, but would probably add something like sweet corn or smoked salmon as well. I'm not a huge fan of Mac n Cheese, but this was as good as any home-made Mac n Cheese, and it would be easy to jazz up.
They are also really good value and don't have the taste I can only describe as wierd jarred tomato sauce taste that you can get with other brands!

If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the sauces to a friend or family member?

Definitely - I already have as I have been chuffed to be chosen as a taster and have talked about it with my friends.

lbsjob87 · 02/03/2016 21:22

As a parent, what is the biggest tea-time challenge for you?

Making sure my kids eat the right amount of food and don't leave it.

Would you say you are more aware of the ‘added sugar’ in food now than you were perhaps a year ago?

I am definitely more aware of sugar being in far more products than I would have expected, savoury things like soup particularly surprised me.

What is your top priority as a parent when choosing which products to purchase or meals to cook for your family?

Making sure it's varied and healthy.

From the ones you tried, which is your favourite flavour in the range? Which did your children like?

Tomato and cheese pasta sauce - same for the children.

Yes very much so.

What is your top priority as a parent when choosing which products to purchase or meals to cook for your family?
Nutritional content.

From the ones you tried, which is your favourite flavour in the range?
Creamy tomato & herb...I found this very tangy and creamy and not too over-powered by the herbs very enjoyable.

Which did your children like?
The meatball sauce as they found it rich and satisfying

Would you use the products again? Yes
Why? They were tastey and very easy to use
If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the sauces to a friend or family member?

As a parent, what is the biggest tea-time challenge for you?
Cooking healthy meals that don't take long to cook.

Would you say you are more aware of the ‘added sugar’ in food now than you were perhaps a year ago?
No, I have always been aware of added sugar and tend to make my own sauces to avoid this

What is your top priority as a parent when choosing which products to purchase or meals to cook for your family?
The taste, it needs to be something my family like and will eat

From the ones you tried, which is your favourite flavour in the range? Which did your children like?
The red lasagne sauce, I usually make my own but this was a much quicker option and tasted nice too. My children liked the red lasagne sauce too

Would you use the products again? Why?
I normally make my own but the red lasagne sauce would be handy to have in the cupboard for a quick tea.

If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the sauces to a friend or family member?
Yes, they make tea time easier and my children loved them

Spirael · 02/03/2016 21:47

We received: Pasta sauce for Macaroni Cheese, Creamy Cheese and Tomato pasta sauce, Red Lasagne pasta sauce and White Lasagne pasta sauce. And the bag of pasta, of course! The lid on the red lasagne sauce failed the button test, but I have to say I was incredibly impressed at the speed a replacement was sent out.

As a parent, what is the biggest tea-time challenge for you?
Speed, primarily. DH and I work full time, DD1 is at primary school and DD2 is at nursery. By the time we all get back to the house, we have

As a parent, what is the biggest tea-time challenge for you?

If I've been busy int the day it's making sure I've got something in that's healthy and quick to prepare around activities.

Would you say you are more aware of the ‘added sugar’ in food now than you were perhaps a year ago?
I try where I can to cook from scratch. If I'm honest I look for less additives and things I can't pronounce, that tends to come before reduced sugar.

What is your top priority as a parent when choosing which products to purchase or meals to cook for your family?

As few additives as possible.

From the ones you tried, which is your favourite flavour in the range? Which did your children like?
Would you use the products again? Why?
If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the sauces to a friend or family member?

Their favourite by far was the meatball sauce. We all really enjoyed it and my boys have asked for it again.

They didn't like the cheesy tomato one, but dh and I did. I'd probably not but that again as I don't tend to cook two options.

The macaroni one went down well but instead of following the instructions I made a big cauliflower/broccoli cheese to go with Sunday dinner.

I used the white sauce to make a cheers carbonara. The children liked it and this was my favourite by far.

I would use the three we liked and keep some in the store cupboard for days when I've not had time to cook from scratch.

I would recommend them, especially to friends who need hidden vegetables for their children!

As a parent, what is the biggest tea-time challenge for you?
Getting tea on the table on time. I cook from scratch most evenings.

Would you say you are more aware of the ‘added sugar’ in food now than you were perhaps a year ago?
Yes, definitely. I've always looked at the fat content but the hidden sugar in products is quite scary.

What is your top priority as a parent when choosing which products to purchase or meals to cook for your family?
Healthy options and cost.

From the ones you tried, which is your favourite flavour in the range? Which did your children like?
Sorry I didn't have a favourite. My children however liked the Bolognese Pasta Sauce best.

Would you use the products again? Why?
Sorry, I wouldn't use the products again. There was an overwhelming artificial sweetener taste to all the products I tested, which both my husband and I noticed. Interestingly, both children didn't notice it, and were happy to eat everything. However, as we all eat together, and the same things, I would not cook using these sauces as a separate meal just for the children.

If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the sauces to a friend or family member?
Sorry, I could not recommend these products due to the strange sweetener taste. I could not get rid of the taste in my mouth for several hours.

popelloucla · 02/03/2016 22:14

As a parent, what is the biggest tea-time challenge for you?

Getting everyone to eat the same meal. I normally have to make adaptations in order to cook for everyone at once. For example, rice for some, pasta for others, peas for one, baked beans for the other.

Would you say you are more aware of the ‘added sugar’ in food now than you were perhaps a year ago?

No, I was aware that sugar is in most processed foods, even those that aren't sweet.

What is your top priority as a parent when choosing which products to purchase or meals to cook for your family?

I look for products that the majority of the family will eat.

From the ones you tried, which is your favourite flavour in the range? Which did your children like?

We all liked the meatball sauce, although DH would have preferred it to be spicy.

Would you use the products again? Why?

I might use the lasagne sauces again because I find lasagne a faff to make from scratch, but I prefer to cook macaroni cheese and bolognese from scratch.

If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the sauces to a friend or family member?

I would recommend them to people who are looking for a pasta sauce in a jar.

HollyBen · 02/03/2016 22:18

As a parent, what is the biggest tea-time challenge for you?
Preparing something which is quick, healthy and tasty after nursery and before bath time.

Would you say you are more aware of the ‘added sugar’ in food now than you were perhaps a year ago?
No not more aware, but more conscious of it given the media attention it has had.

What is your top priority as a parent when choosing which products to purchase or meals to cook for your family?
Finding things which are quick to prepare that both kids will eat. If they are healthy and suitable for DH and I to eat as well even better.

From the ones you tried, which is your favourite flavour in the range? Which did your children like?
Cheese sauce was the favourite with us all (me, DH, DD5 and DS1).

Would you use the products again? Why?
I would buy the Cheese sauce as everyone liked it and there was no added sweetener.
I made a pasta bake when I was out after work with the cream cheese and tomato. I almost didn't use it. If I had realised removing the sugar meant adding sweeteners I probably wouldn't have signed up, but figured I had committed so would try it. It was a big no for DH (not very nice with a weird after taste) and DD (it's yucky). DS seemed to enjoy it but then again he eats anything including shoes and a door stop....
We haven't used the bolognese sauce and probably won't due to the sweetners that are in it.

If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the sauces to a friend or family member?
I would suggest the cheese sauce. It would warn against the others due to sweetners being used to replace the sugar.

BathshebaDarkstone · 02/03/2016 22:39

Aargh I just did this and my post vanished! Oh well, try again:

The biggest teatime challenge for me at the moment is getting DD to eat any hot food, as she's recently had a tummy bug.

I'm not remotely aware of added sugar.

My top priority is something quick that everyone will eat.

Everyone's favourite was the meatball sauce.

We'd use them again as they're delicious!

Yes I'd recommend them to friends and family members.

lbsjob87 · 02/03/2016 23:01

Grrr, don't know what happened there, but as I was saying

Would you use the products again? Why?

I would, although with each use I am glad I added extra ingredients such as chicken and chorizo for more flavour. I would also hope for better cooking instructions/serving suggestions on the jar if I was to buy it again.

I would recommend them if a friend was perhaps looking for sugar free options in particular.

Speed, something that will definitely be eaten and ease of cooking.

Would you say you are more aware of the ‘added sugar’ in food now than you were perhaps a year ago?* Yes *

What is your top priority as a parent when choosing which products to purchase or meals to cook for your family?* I look for additives and low salt *

From the ones you tried, which is your favourite flavour in the range? Which did your children like?* Macaroni cheese was popular with the boys but I wasn't that keen *

Would you use the products again? Why?* Yes, as I like the idea of reducing our sugar intake *

If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the sauces to a friend or family member?* Yes*

As a parent, what is the biggest tea-time challenge for you?
My kids are in 2 different places for lunch most days (school and private nursery) and I want to feed them something nutritious and quick. Difficult to get variety when juggling 2 meal plans and what they'll both eat.

Would you say you are more aware of the ‘added sugar’ in food now than you were perhaps a year ago?

I've been aware of sugar for a while. My dd can get quite agitated if she's had lots of sugar, say at a party, so I try to limit refined sugar intake to pre 2pm. Only fruit/yoghurt for after tea.

What is your top priority as a parent when choosing which products to purchase or meals to cook for your family?

Price, nutrition, ease/quickness, liked by all.

From the ones you tried, which is your favourite flavour in the range?

I liked the creamy cheese and tomato. As did the dcs. All was eaten and there was enough for seconds.
Only one of my DC will eat cheeseConfused so we haven't tried that yet.

I also haven't had a chance to make a lasagne yet but looking forward to trying the white sauce as its something I'm not great at and I've yet to find a decent tasting jar.

Which did your children like?

They liked the hidden veg, though I added some peas and sweet corn to it. I just used it as a quick pasta sauce but think it would make a good lasagne sauce too.
Would you use the products again?

Yes but would depend on price.

Why?

Good store cupboard staples and I like the bigger jars. Usually have loyd gross man ones but generally have to add passata as they're a bit small.

If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the sauces to a friend or family member?

Yes.
