Hi, sorry for the feedback delay, the parcel was delivered to a neighbour who forgot to bring it over!
So far we have tried both of the snacks and the mexican rice base and the tomatoey red paste pot. My answers are below:
Q1 What was your overall first impressions of the selection of foods that Organix has sent to you? Was it what you were expecting? If not how was it different?
It was what I was expecting. A good first impression I like the packaging.
Q2 Did any of the foods you received stand out as very new and different to what other baby food is out there? Why do you say that?
The pastes are a new idea, I don't really buy pre-made baby food but like the idea of these as it's a bit of a helping hand towards home cooked food, which can help when you're a bit stuck for ideas on what to make for dinner.
Q3 How did you find cooking the 'Cook with Organix' recipes, were the instructions easy to follow, were the recipes interesting to you, where would you expect to find these foods in the supermarket? Which of the two products was most suited to you; Paste Pots or Recipe Bases?
The recipes were easy to follow for the paste pots.
I found the recipe base a little trickier to follow, despite being a two portion dinner the instructions were focused on dinner for one. I have a 10 month old and a 2 year old so was making it for both of them, what should have been a simple case of throwing in the extra ingredients and microwaving, turned into a bit of a palaver as I had to double the portions and then work out if I was microwaving it for enough time as there was twice as much food.
I would have thought this product would appeal for other parents who have either children close in age or twins so it would be useful to have instructions for cooking it for two on there.
Also the ingredients list and the cooking instructions for this product are seperate and then when you flatten the box one is upside down which is a bit annoying.
I would expect to see these in the baby aisle and have seen them there.
Q4 what Cook with recipe did you make? Was it one from the pack or did you visit Organix.com for more ideas or add your own twist?
I used the tomatoey paste pot to make a bolognaise, and roughly followed the recipe on the pack with a few variations as to what was in my fridge.
I probably wouldn't use it for bolognaise again as even though it was lovely I generally just give the children the one I normally make but I was wondering if I could have used it in a lentil based recipe so I am planning to visit organix.com to have a look.
Q5 Did you / your partner try any of the foods yourself, if so what did you think of them?
I like the rice cakes, wasn't too fussed about the strawberry hearts or the mexican rice base (I don't like beans of any sort though) and the tomatoey paste made a very nice bolognaise
Q6 What did you think of the value for money for the items?
The rice cakes are a bit expensive, I generally buy the Hipp ones which are cheaper and a bit nicer.
For 6-10 portions of food the pots are reasonably good value for money, although I would probably wait until there was an offer on.
Q7 And last, but importantly, what did your little one think of the foods? Were there any firm favourites that you will look to purchase in the future, and if so why?
The 10 month old liked/ ate the paste pot bolognaise, the mexican rice base and the rice cakes. He ate a couple of the hearts but mainly just threw them around the kitchen.
The 2 year old, when asked told me that the rice cake was very nice and that the strawberry hearts tasted like strawberry, although once he had one of the strawberry bits he didn't eat any more of the puffs.
He also thought the bolognaise was yummy.
He turned his nose up at the mexican rice base.
I wouldn't buy a recipe base again, I think they would probably just end up being a waste of money with the fussy toddler. I may buy the paste pots again depending on how well the others go down once I use them, although I suspect I'll be more inclined towards the curry bases than the italian themed pots.
Thank you for the pack it's been fun trying new things.
