ACHICA is a new website which runs discount promotions on "luxury home and lifestyle" brands - it's free for all to join, when you sign up to be a member you are eligible to snap up the bargains they're offering - up to 70% discount in some cases.

Here's what Achica say about their site: "ACHICA is a members-only luxury home and lifestyle store which is free to join. Members can choose from an array of home, garden and lifestyle brands at up to 70% off. Each promotion is open for just a few days, and members can gain access to new promotions every morning from 7 a.m. Recent member exclusives have included homeware from Tefal, Conran and Christy; summer living from Premier BBQ, Fallen Fruits and Samsonite; children's ranges from FlUKE, Snuglo and Snoozeshade; indulgence by Chanel, Missoni and Vintage Dior; plus much more."

ACHICA are looking for 5 Mumsnetters to try out their site. All you would have to do is become a member of ACHICA (free of charge). ACHICA will then supply each tester with £100 of vouchers to spend on the site (these will be sent to you by email). You then need to go on to the site, choose what you want to buy, purchase it and then come back to Mumsnet and give your feedback about how you find the site to use, what you think of the range of products on offer etc. It's not the products itself that they want you to review, they want to know what you think about ACHICA and the offers available.

Postage is free of charge for Mumsnet testers so as long as you don't spend more than the value of your voucher (£100), you won't have to pay a penny to receive your product(s). Once you become a member of ACHICA you will receive emails about their offers. If you are selected to take part, you will need to become a member of ACHICA, but you can unsubscribe from the offers emails afterwards if you want to and you won't be contacted by ACHICA again.

Here are some examples of things that have been on offer on ACHICA for £100 or less - kitchenware, luxury bed linen, home and bathroom accessories, BBQ sets, outdoor dining, designer kids clothing, baby care and luxury toys. The only thing that your voucher won't allow you to purchase on the site is ACHICA travel.

If you're interested in taking part, please sign up here - it's open to all UK Mumsnetters with at least one child. If you're selected to take part, we'll be in touch in the next week or so.

Thanks
MNHQ

I joined a while ago and have bought some items, can't say I'm overly impressed tbh. The site does make it clear that it takes a while to get your items, so I'd say thats the price you pay for the discounted prices. A lot of the brands are ones I haven't heard of and I'm very familiar with luxury brands. They sent the correct item, but in the wrong price and were unable to change it because they pre order from their suppliers.

So it's a bit meh.

Honeydragon · 08/06/2011 07:14

I haven't heard anything good about them daffs, I wonder if that's why they are trying to pass themselves as new?

SilveryMoon · 08/06/2011 07:20

done

Thanks to everyone who has signed up and/or adding their comments here. We let ACHICA know that some of you have heard about or experienced problems with the site and here is their response:

"Thanks for your feedback. We did experience some teething problems in the early days of launching ACHICA but we have listened to our members' feedback and are continually improving our service. Our customer care team promises to respond within 48 hours of any customer query. Our estimated delivery time (15 to 20 working days) is longer than many other online retail websites as we order the goods from the brands when our promotions end. They then deliver the goods to our warehouse, and we ship them out to our customers. By operating in this fashion we are able to offer our customers some great discounts.?

This is why brands come to MN - they know they'll get constructive feedback as well as "thanks for the voucher hun".

CoffeeIsMyFriend · 08/06/2011 10:52

ah, so they drop ship? ok at least I know if I want something quickly not to order from them.

PacificDogwood · 08/06/2011 12:17

I am a member already - can I have £100, purleeeze??
Wink
And, yes, you do have to google pricecheck what they are selling - not necessarily the best price

Rindercella · 08/06/2011 12:57

Done.

I think it's good, that if they have had teething problems already, ACHICA are looking to get some genuine customer-based testing done. So if chosen, I would give feedback on the whole end-to-end process, not just looking at the pretty front-end website.

hmmm. I tried to sign up for this a couple of days ago, it wouldn't let me submit my form and then when I tried to post in here it crashed my pc.

couldn't get to the computer yesterday so thought I'd have a go now and just discovered it's closed. this is one it seems I was never destined to get - at least when I enter other things like this I can dream that I might win Grin

NewGirlHelenMumsnet · 09/06/2011 14:50

Sorry zipzap - next time!

Right, have just placed my order, paid my money, entered the code. Will let you know how quick my order arrives, and how fast they return my money to my account.

Spirael · 24/06/2011 14:14

They refunded me last week within 24 hours of ordering, Coffee. Hopefully it'll be as smooth for you.

I've not received my order yet, but it's not due for another week or two so I'm not too worried.

CoffeeIsMyFriend · 24/06/2011 17:59

I got an email saying despatch date around 21-23 July. JULY. oh well. I will probably get a refund next week sometime.
