Hijacked by Labour supporters? I had no idea the webchat was only for Tory mumsnetters - really Justine should have warned us.

tvaerialmagpiebin · 19/11/2009 18:25

Absolutely. We are only Women, FFS
Know your place"

(love this)

MadameDefarge · 19/11/2009 18:27

oh, that is marvellous!

BecauseImWorthIt · 19/11/2009 18:30

I love this idea that we were hijacked by labour supporters. does that imply that being mn-er and a labour supporter is incompatible? i think we should be told...

policywonk · 19/11/2009 18:32

zeph have you seen Charlie Brooker's coming in for a webchat next week?

ZephirineDrouhin · 19/11/2009 18:34

I know! It's so exciting. But I can't think of a thing to ask.

JollyPirate · 19/11/2009 18:35

at MN being hijacked by Labour supporters.

ZephirineDrouhin · 19/11/2009 18:35

Actually we should probably ask him about the Tories and the BBC, as he will certainly be a lot more enlightening on the subject than Cameron.

selectivememory · 19/11/2009 18:36

Re. we are not the GMTV sofa (good point, I was shouting that at my computer earlier), could we also point out we are not bloody Loose Women either.

selectivememory · 19/11/2009 18:38

I thought that comment by the Guardian that we had been hijacked by Labour supporters really odd. Who do they think 'we' are? A group of women all held together in a warehouse or something???

treedelivery · 19/11/2009 18:43

Actually I wonder if the whole Labour hijack thing is my fault for admitting to being born into a labour lifestyle and stronghold? As if. but then I did type it whilst wearing a floaty hotchpotch too, which just shows you. The non-hardworking non-family orientated people are infiltrating everywhere, in disguise as hardworking-family-mumsnetters. I'll be going on family holidays to Cornwall next and eating organic.

How patronising the press is towards women. Gah!

treedelivery · 19/11/2009 18:47

selectivememory - they think we are these people when in fact we are these Although I like to see myself as a viper in a nice cord trench. Surely there is a middle ground?

i'm actually scared now at the thought of the tories getting in power now.

i cannot believe that they think its fair that SOME 65 year olds can pay 8k to protect their house, if they need to go into care.
but other s that can't afford 8k at age 65, can go jump.

and that its ok to cut the help people get for childcare costs, but they want to up the amount you can get in inheritance tax free, upto A MILLION POUNDS!!

it really is an old boys club, where the rich want to keep them money to themseleves isn't it.

personally i would like to see tax allowence for sahp to be transfered onto the working parent.
and that families where both parents work, i would like to see them supported with tax bre
aks on childcare costs

as for his stupid comments that hv's are actually going to help lead the way withhelping us mums with bf, really proves how out of touch with reality he is

now my problem is, who the hell do i vote for?

please tell me it's not a dead cert they will get in?

one thing i will give dc is though at least he did actually answer some of the questions, unlike GB who imo did not give one full and proper answer.

i really don't know if i'm going to vote, which does sadden me, but there doesn't seem a party worth voting for, although after hearing the consevatives plans re the 8k and inheritance tax.
i would much rather labour stayed in.

Selectivememory, I agree. I can only think that this blogger (Andrew Sparrow?) really was under the impression that women renounce all interest in political matters the moment they give birth.

The media exposure mumsnet has had lately has revealed a really surprising undercurrent of contempt in the media towards mothers (remember the vile way Ian Hislop spat out the word Mumsnet on HIGNFY). It has been quite an eye-opener.

carriedababi · 19/11/2009 18:52

and also it doesn't take much intelligence to realise you c+P some answers before the chat and then you can also interact live.

i would have thought someone that wants to/or is running the country would be able to figure that out

WilfSell · 19/11/2009 18:52

There are a few threads now about Neil Twattie

carriedababi · 19/11/2009 18:53

actually dittany, i would have loved to have seen your question answered.

they never answer yours either

FlorenceandtheWashingMachine · 19/11/2009 18:55

The rest of is ARE in a warehouse, SM. Typing away. Glad you made it outside.

Justine was also on Woman's Hour this morning. She was very nice about MNers. I felt loved despite the fact that I mainly post on S&B (it's a welcome release from the many stresses of being a High Court judge).

carriedababi · 19/11/2009 18:56

and welldone mumsnetters for the serious questions.
