Hello all - David Cameron is coming on to Mumsnet to answer your questions this Thursday at 1.45-2.45. Please post advance questions here if you can't make it on Thursday. (And please read our Webchat guidelines above before posting ie only one question each). Many thanks.

He should have prepared answers to the questions that have been on this thread for days. He could have typed them out, put them o na memory stick and then pasted them into the thread. He's have answered 30 or more questions in 10 seconds.

I'm very disappointed that he couldn't be bothered.

slug · 19/11/2009 16:38

Ahh DP, many of those women who choose to be single mothers are so because so many men choose to be tossers.

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 19/11/2009 16:38

I'd struggle to 'love' anyone who made such comments as DP did on the jan moir thread.

I used to think she was a pretty cool poster, we have the same music tastes. But i actually wanted to slap her.

JustineMumsnet · 19/11/2009 16:38

Blimey - just back from Conservative Central Office - that was all a bit technically challenging.
DC did actually do answers on Europe and special needs inclusion his born to privilege status but they got lost in the posting ether.
Anyway they've promise to do a whole load more answers to make up for it and send them over in the next day or two.

I disagree that the Web Chat as it is should be changed.

One of the best Web Chats was with the allergy specialist Dr Adam Fox. He came well prepared, had obviously looked at the questions well in advance and c&p answers then was able to concentrate on the chat as it happened.

It was a poor show. David Cameron could have put a couple of lowly interns on to it a day or two ago, they could have prepared some scripted answers to leave him free to actually interact with MNetters.

MadameDefarge · 19/11/2009 16:40

I am determined to show her the light through the media of cogent arguments and affection....

colditz · 19/11/2009 16:43

I chose to be a single parent over being a parent in a committed relationship in which I was being hit. I was able to make this choice because of the benefits system.

Without the safety net of this system, I would have chosen to stay and be hit.

I really would.

slug · 19/11/2009 16:44

Come on MadamDefarge, you know daftpunk is, in reality, a team of journalists from the Daily Mail.

and I too fit DC's perfect model. married. 2 kids. been in gainful employment since forever. hell I've even got a labrador and a coat from Boden.

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 19/11/2009 16:48

I have too chosen to be a single parent, it's taken me close to two years to get out of a violent abusive marriage.

I now am faced with coping with my DD and my DS who has ASD alone, and may need to rely on the state.

So shoot me.

MadameDefarge · 19/11/2009 16:48

And they all wear fabulous shoes...what's not to love?

morningpaper · 19/11/2009 16:53

Hi Justine, sounds like a total 'mare. Was surprised at lack of prepared answers though. Did you have your own techy-person there or was it one of DCs?! Can't believe he had to borrow your laptop...

I was surprised, I expected him to be a lot more prepared, especially to have done a bit of work before and have some prepared answers to the questions that were posted early on in the thread. I know these things run really quickly but he could easily have had a typist (did he, Justine?) and researchers doing the grunt for him.

I will be interested to see if he replies to Riven.

I was more impressed by GB and he has a visual disability to cope with.

JustineMumsnet · 19/11/2009 16:59

They did have prepared answers - I'd say about 6-8 - and DC was typing away too but it was only halfway through that we realised that his posts weren't actually registering. I don't think it's fair to say that they couldn't be bothered. But I think we probably should insist all chats take place here and look at the format of them to make it easier for our guest and a more satisfying experience for all.

I really think both Gordon Brown and David Cameron (and their teams) did their best but it's a darned hard format to master, never mind actually having to answer the questions.

ROFL at the the idea of the midnight (unamrried )household being like the last days of Rome.

Only insofar as my children make it look a bit that way. In reality notsomuch.

on pm in a min

tvaerialmagpiebin · 19/11/2009 17:05

Think you are right Justine.
Maybe you could print a list of the questions asked before the day of the webchat and send them to the chat-er, then they can prepare answers and post them all in one go, before getting down to the "live" ones. I would not mind getting answers that were pre-prepared if it meant I got my question answered.

then you could answer the next 15 mins worth of questions....

Maybe he will come back with a big long list of other answers soon...

at least his lot didn't eat all your carrot cake.

Sam called in the middle of it and he suggested she logon and ask a question - don't know whether she did though .
